Andaman Islands
The Andaman Islands, cloaked in tropical forest, lie in the Andaman Sea far to the east of mainland India. Havelock Island, about two hours by ferry from Port Blair, is known for Radhanagar Beach, with its white sand, turquoise water and memorable sunsets, while quieter coves hide along the rest of the coast.
Coral reefs surround the island, offering snorkelling and scuba diving among colourful fish and sea turtles, while mangrove creeks are best explored by kayak. The best time is roughly November to April, when the sea is calm and clear; the monsoon season runs roughly from May to September.
