The Chancery Rosewood

About this hotel

General information

Opened in 2025, The Chancery Rosewood occupies the former US Embassy on Grosvenor Square in Mayfair — a modernist building of 1960 by Eero Saarinen, crowned by a gilded eagle. There is no reception desk: guests are taken straight to their rooms, and arrival and departure times are flexible. The interiors are the work of French designer Joseph Dirand.

Eight restaurants and bars run from Mediterranean cooking at Serra and Japanese haute cuisine by chef Masa Takayama to cocktails on the roof as the sun sets over the city. Asaya Spa has a large pool, a thermal area and Dr Wassim Taktouk’s aesthetic medicine clinic. The hotel’s art collection numbers over 700 works, and a ballroom and a series of salons host events of every scale, weddings included.

Location

The hotel stands on Grosvenor Square in Mayfair, a few minutes’ walk from Bond Street, Oxford Street, Piccadilly, Soho, Covent Garden and the West End. London City Airport is 16 km away, Heathrow 30 km and Gatwick 45 km.

Spa

The 1,119 m² Asaya Spa has a 25-metre indoor pool, hot tub, cold plunge, sauna, steam room, relaxation areas and five treatment rooms, including a couples’ suite. It also houses the Taktouk clinic, with programmes by Dr Wassim Taktouk, a specialist in aesthetic medicine and dermatology. Treatments use EviDenS de Beauté, Moods and SkinCeuticals.

Sports & leisure

The 24-hour fitness centre is equipped by Technogym and Artis Luxury; guests also have the spa’s 25-metre indoor pool, and the hotel arranges excursions around London.

Restaurants & bars

Restaurants and bars include:

  • Tobi Masa — Japanese haute cuisine by Michelin-starred chef Masayoshi Takayama
  • Serra — Mediterranean cooking inspired by Greece and southern Italy
  • Jacqueline — a gilded salon for English afternoon tea with desserts by French pastry chef Marius Dufay and live music
  • GSQ — café with an outdoor terrace
  • Eagle Bar Upper East — rooftop American bar with signature cocktails and premium spirits
  • Eagle Bar Upper West — rooftop terrace for champagne and evening cocktails at sunset

In-room dining is also available.
