General information
Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas opened in May 2018 on Saadiyat — Arabic for “island of happiness”. The coastline is carefully protected, and rare hawksbill turtles nest on its beaches. The resort, built in a contemporary Arabian style, fronts a 9 km white-sand beach on the Arabian Gulf.
This is first and foremost an address for family, beach and active holidays: rooms and beach villas with private pools, several restaurants and bars, a spa, a large landscaped pool, water attractions and a kids’ club. A banquet hall and outdoor venue host events, and weddings and honeymoon programmes are arranged on site. Services include butlers and a concierge, a beauty salon, a doctor on call, limousines, car hire and Tesla charging.
Location
The resort sits on Saadiyat Island’s 9 km beach, 15 minutes’ drive from Abu Dhabi’s malls and waterfront and 20 minutes from the international airport.
Spa
The spa has Turkish and Moroccan hammams, a relaxation area and treatment rooms offering massage, wellness rituals and face and body care, including signature therapies drawn from Himalayan tradition.
Sports & leisure
Alongside the large outdoor pool, there is a modern gym with saunas, floodlit tennis courts, padel courts, mini-golf and beach volleyball, plus water sports, entertainment and excursions. Sports, tennis and water sports equipment can be hired.
For children
The kids’ club is split into two age groups. Little ones have a pool with a slide, a lazy river and a splash area; older children have a games room, playground, cinema and chill-out room. Babysitting is available on request.
