About this hotel
General information
Burj Al Arab stands on its own man-made island in the Arabian Gulf: a 321-metre tower shaped like a billowing sail, lit in shifting colours at night and long since the emblem of Dubai. Twenty-first-century technology meets the opulence of an Arabian palace — rare marble, crystal, furniture in precious woods, fine carpets, gold leaf and original works of art.
Every suite is a duplex with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the sea. The island has an outdoor pool, and guests can go diving, windsurfing, fishing, sailing or up in a helicopter, with golf courses and tennis courts nearby. The six restaurants and two bars observe a smart-casual dress code: men wear collared shirts, trousers (not jeans) and closed shoes. There is also a library, boutiques, meeting rooms and a limousine service, and weddings and honeymoon programmes can be arranged.
Location
The hotel stands on a man-made island 280 m offshore in the Jumeirah Beach area, 15 km from central Dubai and 25 km from the international airport.
Spa
Talise Spa occupies the 18th floor, with sea views. It has two indoor pools, separate saunas for men and women, a steam room, a Jacuzzi, relaxation areas, two gyms, sunbeds, a yoga and aerobics studio, a squash court and spa boutiques. Massage, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, reflexology and facials use La Prairie products.
Sports & leisure
The 10,000 m² Burj Al Arab Terrace holds a restaurant, a bar, two pools with loungers and a beach lined with 32 air-conditioned cabanas facing Palm Jumeirah and the city skyline. Each of the 24 standard and 8 royal cabanas takes up to four guests and comes with a personal butler, dining, bar and spa menus, a stocked minibar, fresh fruit, a coffee machine and a Bang & Olufsen TV; the royal cabanas add a private bathroom, shower and veranda.
For children
Sinbad’s Kids Club on the 18th floor welcomes children aged 1–12; there is a playroom, a children’s menu and babysitting on request. Hotel guests enter the neighbouring Wild Wadi water park free of charge.
