Four Seasons Hotel Montreal

About this hotel

General information

Four Seasons Hotel Montreal sits in the Golden Square Mile, the historic quarter of Montréal where fashion houses, jewellers and galleries cluster. An indoor passage links the hotel to the Holt Renfrew Ogilvy department store, and its third floor works as a social hub for the city, with a sky lobby, a restaurant and terrace, a lounge and a bar. Guest rooms begin only on the sixth floor, so they are bright and look out over the city.

The Paris studio Gilles & Boissier designed the interiors, pairing restrained modern lines with tactile, sensual materials. The art collection is conceived as a surreal urban garden: in the atrium, Pascale Girardin’s suspended installation “Contemplation” sends a stream of ceramic petals down nine floors, while photography by Montréal artists lines the corridors. The hotel has 169 rooms, 19 of them suites, along with a Guerlain spa, an indoor pool and the Palais de Possibles ballroom for up to 450 guests.

Location

The hotel stands at 1440 rue de la Montagne, on the corner of boulevard de Maisonneuve, at the heart of the Golden Square Mile in downtown Montréal, Québec. Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) is 20.8 km away, about 20 minutes by car, and the train station around 5 minutes. The hotel arranges limousine transfers with a meet-and-greet at the airport, and valet parking is available.

Spa

Guerlain Spa occupies the sixth floor, with eight treatment rooms including a couples’ suite, plus a sauna and steam room. Its distinguishing feature is Kneipp hydrotherapy, complete with a reflexology walk for the soles of the feet. The menu covers facials from Guerlain’s Orchidée Impériale line, gold-infused skincare inspired by the Golden Square Mile, HydraFacial, massages, body scrubs and masks, dedicated treatments for men and hair rituals.

Restaurants & bars

Dining is gathered on the open-plan third floor under the Marcus name. Marcus Restaurant + Terrace, with its terrace set high above the street, runs from breakfast to late dinner; the Montréal-born executive chef builds the menu around local, seasonal produce, from a seafood tower of oysters and snow crab to lobster pasta and Canadian black cod, and a chef’s counter serves a tasting menu with optional wine pairings chosen by the chef sommelier. Marcus Lounge + Night Bar is a cocktail lounge with a seasonal list and plates for sharing that turns into a night bar with live music later in the evening. In-room dining is available around the clock.

Swimming

The indoor pool on the sixth floor is lit by a skylight and fitted with a counter-current generator for lap swimming; daybeds line the water, with a sauna and steam room alongside. It is open to hotel guests, residents and spa clients.
