Lancemore Mansion Hotel Werribee Park

About this hotel

General information

Lancemore Mansion Hotel Werribee Park occupies a nineteenth-century estate set in four hectares of English parkland, with landscaped gardens, broad lawns and trees more than a century old. From 1920 to 1973 the buildings housed St Joseph’s Catholic seminary; later the estate served as a film location, and after careful restoration it now operates as a boutique hotel.

Rooms pair contemporary comfort with the heritage of the house, and the hotel is anchored by Joseph’s Dining, the L.M. Spa with its hammam and indoor pool, a fireside library, a snooker room and event spaces including a Marquee for up to 280 guests, plus outdoor settings. Weddings are hosted here, with dedicated programmes for newlyweds, and there is a concierge, business services, a gift boutique, laundry and parking.

Location

The hotel sits within Werribee Park on the edge of Werribee, about 35 km south-west of central Melbourne – roughly half an hour by car. Its neighbours are the historic Werribee Park Mansion, open to visitors, and the Werribee Open Range Zoo.

Spa

L.M. Spa has a traditionally tiled hammam, a steam room, tranquillity suites and treatment rooms, and spa guests may also use the 17-metre heated indoor pool and the gym. The menu covers massage (including hot stone and pregnancy treatments), facials with DermaLux LED therapy, scrubs, wraps and aromatherapy.

Sports & leisure

The gym, steam room and 17-metre heated indoor pool are open daily; the house has a snooker room, and around it lie four hectares of English gardens and the polo fields.

For children

Families can take the 2 Bedroom Family Suite, which sleeps five, or a Superior Room interconnecting with a Junior Suite. Children can join treasure hunts through the grounds, and during school holidays L.M. Spa offers them Pamper & Polish treatments.

Restaurants & bars

Dining centres on Joseph’s Dining, with quieter corners for an aperitif.

  • Joseph’s Dining — restaurant overlooking the formal parterre gardens, named after the former seminary, serving contemporary Australian food with classical influence: regional produce, premium meats and seafood, some of it grown in the estate’s own garden, and more than 200 wines; on Saturdays and Sundays it serves High Tea with sweet and savoury bites and prosecco
  • Daytime café at Joseph’s Dining — brunch and coffee
  • Lounge Bar — light bites and cocktails
  • Library and Snooker Room — a fireside aperitif or liqueur in quiet surroundings
  • In-room dining
