General information
Susana Balbo Winemaker's House & Spa Suites is an intimate winemaker's house in Chacras de Coria, the leafy suburb of Mendoza. A lane of linden trees leads to a stately mansion, and around it stand just seven freestanding spa suites. Each is a glass-walled guest house with a garden of its own, screened by walls of volcanic stone, so privacy is part of the architecture. The interiors are contemporary yet warm, worked in leather, wood and other fine Argentine materials.
The house was conceived by Susana Balbo, Argentina's first female winemaker, together with her family, and wine shapes everything here, from the tasting room and private cellar to guided routes through Mendoza's wine country. The other signature is a spa that comes to the guest: treatments take place inside each suite. Shared spaces include the La VidA restaurant, a bar, a terrace, a pool and gardens, along with a curated art collection. The hotel is a member of Relais & Châteaux.
Location
The hotel sits at Viamonte 5022 in Chacras de Coria, in the Luján de Cuyo department — a quiet, green suburb of Mendoza at the foot of the Andes, with a good choice of restaurants and specialist shops. The region's leading wineries are about 20 minutes' drive away, and Mendoza's historic centre, with its parks and colonial heritage, is there to explore.
Spa
There is no separate spa building: every suite is a private spa in its own right, and treatments are chosen from an à la carte menu and delivered in the guest's own house. The rituals draw on local herbs grown in the hotel garden and on wine-based therapies, and the programmes are grouped by intent — purifying, renewing, relieving, balancing and energising.
Sports & leisure
Wine is the main pursuit. Guests can book the Winemaking Expedition, a programme designed by the Balbo family with private transport, personal service and wine-paired lunches; its routes take in Mendoza's landmark estates, pioneering new wineries and little-known boutique producers. On site there is the Tasting Room with a sommelier, hands-on cooking classes in Argentine desserts and asado, and a garden asado day hosted by the grill masters. For the outdoors, the hotel arranges hiking and trekking, cycling, rafting, canopy lines and horse riding.
Restaurants & bars
Cooking at the house centres on open fire, Argentine beef and seasonal produce, with a wine list compiled by the Balbo family.

- The grill area overlooking the garden — asado at a communal wooden table, reserved for hotel guests
Swimming
A pool lies in the hotel gardens; after an asado, dessert is served by the fire beside it.

Every suite has a king or two twin beds, a sitting area, a minibar and a wine fridge stocked with a curated selection, a relaxing tub, a sensations shower, locally made bath products, and a private garden with a fire pit and heated loungers.
