About this hotel
General information
Zannier Bãi San Hô occupies a private peninsula above Bãi San Hô – literally the “bay of corals” – on the coast of Central Vietnam. Its 98 hectares run from age-old rice paddies over hills of palm and bamboo groves down to a white-sand beach. The bay lies within a protected marine area, and its reef of roughly 26,000 m² is among the best preserved in the country, home to more than 40 species of reef-building coral and 20 of soft coral; the resort runs its own coral restoration programme.
The 73 villas follow three traditional Vietnamese architectural styles, each matched to its setting: wooden stilt houses among the paddies and gardens, pool villas on the hillsides and by the beach, and two-storey villas above the bay modelled on the longhouses of the Ede people. Restaurants on the hilltop, on the sand and among the rice fields, a cocktail bar, the Hoa Sen Spa, a children’s club and sports courts complete the estate. The resort is open all year and holds Green Globe certification for sustainability.
Location
The resort sits on a private peninsula in Đắk Lắk Province, on the shore of Bãi San Hô bay and well away from the country’s main tourist circuits. The nearest airports, Tuy Hoa (TBB) and Phu Cat (UIH), are each between an hour and an hour and twenty minutes away by car, with several daily flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi; Cam Ranh International Airport is an alternative for international travellers. Chauffeured transfers are arranged on request, and buggies run guests around the grounds.
Spa
The 372 m² Hoa Sen Spa – the name means “lotus flower” – has seven treatment rooms, three of them for couples, separate hammams and saunas for men and women, a tea room and generous relaxation areas. Its rituals are built around five elements – air, fire, water, earth and spirit – and pair Vietnamese healing traditions with modern, results-led treatments: bathing rituals, herbal therapies, acupressure, cupping, plant-based elixirs, meditation and marine skincare, all using local brands and ingredients.
Sports & leisure
A 24-hour fitness centre with Life Fitness equipment and staff on hand, a yoga studio, and one tennis and one padel court set among palms and bamboo, with partner play, group sessions or private lessons. The private beach hosts free football, volleyball, beach tennis, pétanque, badminton and frisbee. On the water there is snorkelling straight from the shore with complimentary gear, guided reef outings by kayak or speedboat, windsurfing, Hobie Cat sailing, kayaks, waterbikes, stand-up paddleboards and an electric hydrofoil board, as well as catamaran trips around the bay.
- a guided kayak trip through Cu Mong Lagoon, past shrimp farms and lift nets;
- rides in a traditional round bamboo basket boat;
- visits to fishing, farming and craft villages – a rice-paper-making family, a salt farm, fishing with local fishermen and a swim at a hidden waterfall;
- a full-day road trip around the province to basalt column cliffs on the coast, the country’s longest wooden bridge and the rural landscapes of Phu Yen, with lunch above a lagoon;
- hiking trails and picnic spots.
For children
The children’s club is open daily from 8am to 5pm for ages 4 to 12, and younger children are welcome with a parent. A dedicated team runs activities in indoor and outdoor play areas: board games, creative workshops in the library, reading in hammocks, ping-pong and badminton.
Restaurants & bars
Three restaurants explore different sides of Vietnamese cooking, with a cocktail bar for the evening; in-villa dining runs from 7am to 11pm.
- Nhà Ở – the hilltop main restaurant with panoramic views and a covered loggia: buffet breakfast and all-day menus blending Southeast Asian and international dishes, plus a bar beside the main pool;
- Làng Chài – a restaurant and beach bar in thatched, fishing-village-style huts: locally caught fish and seafood from an open kitchen, a grill and pizzas from a wood-fired oven;
- Bà Hai – a stilted restaurant under a 12-metre roof of bamboo, rattan and wood above the resort’s rice paddies, serving set menus of northern, central and southern regional cooking; open on selected evenings and for private events;
- Hâm Bar – an intimate cocktail bar in the main building, decorated in an Indochine style, with inventive cocktails and board games; open every evening.
Swimming
The resort has its own white-sand beach on Bãi San Hô bay, with loungers and umbrellas by Làng Chài. The coral reef begins within swimming distance of the shore, so fish and corals can be seen straight from the beach. The main infinity pool sits on the hilltop beside Nhà Ở with sweeping views, and the hill, beach and bay villas each have a private pool.
