Regent Phu Quoc

About this hotel

General information

Regent Phu Quoc is the Regent brand’s resort on the west coast of Phu Quoc island, set at the heart of Bai Truong, better known as Long Beach. It is made up entirely of suites and villas, most of them with a private pool, and its main draw is the evening light: the beach faces west, and the sunset turns the sky pink, orange and then violet over the water.

Lagoons and tropical gardens run through the grounds, and the accommodation is spread between the Ocean Wing and Sky Wing buildings and villas set in the gardens, above the lagoons and directly on the sand. The design pairs traditional Vietnamese architecture with a contemporary, pared-back style: natural fabrics, a quiet palette and floor-to-ceiling glass. A stocked Refreshment Gallery of drinks and local treats, a daily allowance of laundry and non-motorised water sports are all part of the stay. Regent Club, on level 10 of the Sky Wing, adds an adults-only rooftop pool, all-day food, drinks and champagne for an additional fee.

Location

The resort lies on Long Beach on the west coast of Phu Quoc, 17 km from Phu Quoc International Airport, a drive of 15–20 minutes. Regent runs its own lounge in the domestic arrivals hall, and guests are met on both international and domestic flights. Transfers and island excursions are by chauffeured Range Rover Sport; guests in the four- and seven-bedroom villas have their airport transfer included. Electric buggies take guests around the grounds.

Spa

The Spa at Regent Phu Quoc combines locally inspired massage with treatments from well-known partners. A dedicated facial suite works with Biologique Recherche products and begins with a skin analysis, while the Pedi:Mani:Cure studio offers medical pedicures and manicures devised by a French podiatrist. Signature therapies include a treatment on a bed of warm golden quartz sand, alongside half-day and full-day wellbeing programmes and a range of treatments designed for parents and children.

Sports & leisure

The health club is open around the clock with Technogym equipment, including cross-training kit, and personal trainers on request. Complimentary group yoga runs every day in the rooftop, indoor and outdoor pavilions, along with crystal bowl meditation and aerial yoga on the roof facing the sunset. There are tennis and pickleball courts and jogging trails in the grounds. The water sports station on the beach has body boards, sea kayaks, windsurfing and stand-up paddle boards, plus Laser and Optimist sailing dinghies. The resort’s own catamaran, Serenity, sails morning cruises to hidden bays and outlying islets and evening sunset cruises with snorkelling and fishing, and can be chartered privately. The recreation team also leads jungle treks in the island’s north-west and arranges visits to fishing villages, pepper farms and the market in Duong Dong.

For children

The Regent Kids club is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm, with imagination zones, a climbing area, a treehouse, swings, a maze, a mini-theatre with beanbags, a reading nook with children’s books in many languages, and board games and puzzles. Its programme covers arts and crafts, sport and ocean discovery, and Little Chef classes let children bake cookies and decorate cupcakes. The main pool has a separate children’s pool, and babysitting is available on request.

Restaurants & bars

The restaurants and bars range from Vietnamese cooking to Japanese-French cuisine.

  • Oku — the signature restaurant: contemporary Japanese-French cuisine, an omakase menu, the Salon de Boeuf grill for wagyu and fish, a sommelier’s wine list and private dining rooms; dinner only.
  • Rice Market — Vietnamese cooking built around rice and noodles, with an open kitchen and in-house bakery; breakfast, lunch and dinner, dishes for sharing and a coffee bar serving local beans.
  • Ocean Club — a Balearic-style beach club with a pool, Mediterranean food, rum-based cocktails and sea views.
  • Bar Jade — a hidden cocktail bar styled on the golden age of luxury rail travel, with signature cocktails and izakaya-style small plates.
  • Fu Bar — an adults-only rooftop pool bar with gin and herb cocktails and sunset views across the island.
Swimming

The resort fronts its own stretch of white-sand Long Beach with calm water, and the beachfront villas step straight onto the sand. There are five pools: the main pool with a separate children’s pool, the Ocean Club pool, the health club’s rooftop pool on level 8 of the Ocean Wing, and an adults-only rooftop infinity pool on level 10 of the Sky Wing.
