General information
InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort occupies 39 hectares of preserved mountainside inside the Son Tra Nature Reserve, hidden in jungle above Bai Bac Bay and its own 700-metre beach. IHG describes it as its flagship in Indochina; it has 189 rooms, suites, penthouses and villas.
The buildings step down the slope across four levels, Heaven, Sky, Earth and Sea, which mirror a traditional Vietnamese view of the world from the heavens to the water, and the Nam Tram funicular links them. The architecture joins local building traditions with a high-contrast black-and-white palette, French and Vietnamese furniture, handcrafted lighting and original artwork. The surrounding forest holds more than a thousand species, among them the rare red-shanked douc langur, often seen from the terraces, and a full-time naturalist on the staff looks after this habitat.
Location
The resort lies on the Son Tra peninsula, within the nature reserve, about 13 km from central Da Nang and around 30 minutes by car from Da Nang International Airport. The concierge arranges transfers; penthouse and villa guests are met and returned to the airport by resort limousine as part of their stay, and the resort keeps its own lounge at the airport for guests before departure. A free scheduled shuttle runs to Hoi An.
Spa
Mi Sol Spa takes its name from notes of the musical scale, and its approach rests on sound and the vibration of tuning forks, which close every ritual. The menu includes Ayurvedic marma massage with Subtle Energies products, a deep Thai and Vietnamese massage with optional cupping or herbal compresses, a treatment with warm and cool stones from the Marble Mountains, Valmont facials and a two-hour programme for better sleep. A Nail & Hair Studio works with Margaret Dabbs products. Daily complimentary classes cover yoga, aerial yoga in the beach pavilion and tai chi, with private meditation and tuning-fork Frequency Yoga sessions on request. The spa welcomes guests from 14 years of age.
Sports & leisure
Soar Gym is equipped by Technogym with personal trainers on hand, and an outdoor Outrace circuit adds functional training. Across from the main gate a sports centre has six pickleball courts, three of them roofed, and a hard tennis court, with a football pitch at the top of the resort. On the beach kayaks, sailing boats, stand-up paddleboards, windsurfing kit and snorkelling gear are complimentary, alongside beach volleyball, football, badminton, pétanque, table tennis and billiards, and lessons in steering a traditional Vietnamese basket boat. The naturalist leads walks through the grounds and rainforest trails, and a partner runs half-day expeditions across the peninsula. Citron hosts Vietnamese cooking classes, and the organic garden offers hands-on sessions with the kitchen team.
For children
The complimentary Planet Trekkers Kids' Club is open daily for children aged 4 to 12; younger children may join with a parent or nanny. Supervised activities include making Vietnamese lanterns and jewellery, art classes, sandcastle building, scavenger hunts and nature discoveries. There is a children's pool beside the Garden Pool, and babysitting can be booked through the concierge in advance.
Restaurants & bars
Restaurants are spread across every level of the resort, from the top of the slope down to the sand.
- La Maison 1888 — the resort's signature restaurant: refined French cuisine, sommelier pairings from one of the country's most notable wine cellars and a chef's table for small groups
- Citron — dishes from northern, central and southern Vietnam on the resort's highest level, with outdoor booths shaped like upturned nón lá conical hats; afternoon tea is served here daily
- Tingara — modern Japanese teppanyaki at a chef's counter, built around seasonal seafood and Japanese beef, with wine and sake
- Terra Mare — light coastal Italian cooking in a thatched pavilion on the beach, with a barbecue and bonfire every Saturday
- L_O_N_G Bar — a 50-metre bar for cocktails, wine and light bites, with daybeds, a beachside lawn, pool and table tennis
- Club InterContinental Lounge — on the Heaven level for Club, penthouse and villa guests, with afternoon tea and evening cocktails
- Private dining — on the beach, on a villa terrace or in a private Nam Tram funicular cabin, with a course served at each stop
Swimming
The private 700-metre beach sits in a sheltered bay with clear water, furnished with umbrellas, loungers and hammocks and served throughout the day. The L_O_N_G Pool is a 50-metre, temperature-controlled infinity pool with a jacuzzi area and views over the peninsula, reserved for adults. Near the beach the quieter Garden Pool has its own jacuzzi, with a children's pool beside it; the penthouses and villas have private infinity pools.

Pets are not permitted at the resort.
Rooms
The 189 rooms, suites, penthouses and villas sit on different levels of the slope, and nearly all of them face the sea. Club categories, penthouses and villas include access to the Club lounge, and penthouse and villa guests have a personal host available around the clock.
Each room has a terrace, a large bathroom with double vanities, rain shower and marble tub, a Bose sound system, TV, desk, safe, hairdryer, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi.
