General information
Amanoi occupies a broad, mountainous promontory above Vinh Hy Bay, inside Nui Chua National Park, part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The name joins the Sanskrit-derived word for peace with the Vietnamese 'noi', meaning place. Beside the park lies a marine reserve whose waters hold corals, tropical fish and both hawksbill and green turtles.
The resort is made up of nine freestanding Pavilions, 22 Pool Villas, two Wellness Pool Villas and 12 Residences. Its contemporary architecture borrows from Vietnamese tradition – curving roofs rising above the treeline, latticed windows, natural materials – and paths wind between the buildings through coastal rock and greenery. The hilltop Central Pavilion houses the Restaurant, the Bar and a library beside an infinity pool facing the coast; down on the private sandy beach, the Beach Club has a second pool, while the Aman Spa sits by a lotus-filled lake.
Location
The resort lies at Vinh Hy village on the bay of the same name, on Vietnam's south-central coast in Khanh Hoa Province. Cam Ranh International Airport is 55 km away, about 75 minutes by car, and the resort arranges transfers. Cam Ranh is 65 minutes by air from Ho Chi Minh City, 75 minutes from Da Nang and 105 minutes from Hanoi; the drive from Ho Chi Minh City takes around five hours.
Spa
The Aman Spa stands beside the lotus lake, with five double treatment rooms (four with terraces), two hydrotherapy suites each holding a heated stone table, steam room, Jacuzzi and cold plunge pool, hand and foot therapy rooms, a finishing salon and relaxation pavilions. The menu spans Aman's signature Grounding, Purifying and Nourishing journeys, locally inspired rituals, traditional Vietnamese massage, and hammam and banya treatments with birch venik. Holistic journeys of one to three nights, a three-day mobility and recovery programme, and yoga, breathwork and meditation in the floating Yoga Pavilion complete the offer.
Sports & leisure
For training there is a gym overlooking the lake, a Pilates studio with Allegro reformers, a yoga pavilion over the water and two floodlit tennis courts, with functional and personal sessions led by trainers, beach workouts included. Non-motorised water sports run from the beach – single, double and glass-bottomed kayaks, paddleboards, windsurfing, Hobie Cats and dinghy sailing – along with daily guided snorkelling over the bay's reefs and private catamaran cruises for sailing or fishing. Kitesurfing lessons are given on a nearby lagoon.
On land, guides lead guests into Nui Chua National Park: a 21 km mountain trek, a walk to a three-tiered waterfall, a picnic among the rock formations followed by a descent to a turtle-conservation beach, and breakfast in the fishing village of Vinh Hy. Cultural outings include the 12th–13th-century Cham towers and a Cham museum, a Cham feast closed by a blessing ceremony, and a family-style dinner in a local home. An 18-hole golf course off site can be played on request, with transfers.
For children
Children have a daily programme: coconut-leaf weaving, sand sculpture with shells and driftwood at the Beach Club, tennis coaching for ages 4–10, cooking classes for ages 5–11 at the Rock Studio, beach archery from age 12, and family movie nights with popcorn in the library.
Restaurants & bars
Cooking centres on Vietnamese dishes built on seasonal market produce and the daily catch:
- The Restaurant — all-day dining in the Central Pavilion with a panorama of the bay, Vietnamese cuisine and international classics
- The Beach Club — relaxed lunches, freshly grilled seafood and poolside drinks on the shore
- The Bar — cocktails in the spirit of a Vietnamese teahouse, with live performances five nights a week
Private meals can be set on the beach, on the clifftop by the pool, in a pavilion by the lotus lake or at the boulder-ringed Rock Studio, which also hosts Vietnamese cooking classes; Residence guests can dine at home.
Swimming
The resort has its own golden-sand beach on Vinh Hy Bay, whose waters belong to a coral-rich marine reserve. The Beach Club on the sand has a second swimming pool, and the hilltop infinity pool beside the Central Pavilion looks out along the coast.
Rooms
Nine Pavilions, 22 Pool Villas, two Wellness Pool Villas and 12 Residences stand apart on the hillside, their timber decks facing the sea, the bay, the lake or the park's mountains. Residences gather one to five bedroom pavilions with living and dining pavilions around a private pool, served by a 24-hour butler and their own buggy.
Rooms have a king-size bed, a living area with sofa and writing desk, a bathroom with bathtub and twin vanities, a separate shower and toilet, an espresso machine, a personal bar, Wi-Fi, TV, a Bose sound system and a safe.
