About this hotel
General information
Mandarin Oriental, New York occupies the upper floors of the Deutsche Bank Center on Columbus Circle, the tower rising above Manhattan and Central Park, directly over The Shops at Columbus Circle. Height defines the hotel: the New York skyline appears from almost everywhere — the rooms, the restaurant and bar, the spa, fitness centre and pool, even the ballroom.
Rooms are fitted with the latest technology, and their classic interiors are finished with artworks and silk fabrics. Events are held in the 557 m² Mandarin Ballroom on the 36th floor, with 5.5-metre windows over Central Park and room for up to 500 guests, as well as a boardroom, the Lotus Suite and the private Asiate room. Dedicated programmes are offered for weddings and family celebrations.
Location
The hotel fills the upper floors of the Deutsche Bank Center on Columbus Circle, beside Central Park and within walking distance of Fifth Avenue, Broadway and Lincoln Center. JFK Airport is about 30 minutes away by car.
Spa
The Spa was the first, and is the longest-standing, Forbes Five-Star spa on the East Coast. Before treatments guests use the amethyst crystal steam room, the Vitality Pool, a relaxation lounge and the Oriental Tea Lounge overlooking the Hudson. Treatment rooms are finished with bamboo floors and Japanese rice paper, and there is the 60 m² Celadon Spa Suite for VIP treatments and a Thai Suite in teak and gold leaf. Treatments are for guests aged 18 and over.
Sports & leisure
The 24-hour fitness centre, with cardio and weight equipment, looks out over the skyline, alongside saunas and a 23-metre pool. A Wellness Concierge designs personal programmes, and bicycles and private guided rides are available for exploring Central Park.
For children
Families can book connecting rooms and suites, with cribs, playpens, bed guards, baby-care essentials and bath toys, and a tipi tent set up for children staying in suites. MO Lounge and in-room dining offer children’s menus, and young guests can join afternoon tea.
Restaurants & bars
MO Lounge, overlooking Central Park and Manhattan, serves contemporary, globally inflected dishes and cocktails from morning to night, with afternoon tea in the afternoon. The Bar, high above Columbus Circle, is an intimate speakeasy whose cocktails draw on the Silk Road (guests 21 and over). In-room dining runs around the clock.
Swimming
The heated 23-metre indoor lap pool is filled with daylight and looks out over the Hudson, with a lifeguard always on duty. Children swim with an adult, and private swimming lessons can be arranged.
Pets
Pets stay at no extra charge, with beds, bowls and a dedicated menu; pet-sitting and dog walking are available for a fee.
