About this hotel
General information
Halekulani has welcomed guests on Oahu for more than a century and remains one of the best-known hotels in Hawaii. It sits directly on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, framed by the elements that define the island: white sand, the Pacific, mountains, tropical forest and orchid gardens.
The hotel is known for its service and its dining: La Mer for island-inspired French cuisine, Orchids for coastal Italian cooking, and House Without A Key with Hawaiian music and hula. There is the renewed SpaHalekulani, the Orchid Pool and a fitness studio, while events are served by a 400 m² ballroom, the Hau Terrace of around 460 m² and smaller rooms including the Kalia Room and the Kiawe Room. The hotel helps with wedding arrangements.
Location
The hotel stands on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, on the island of Oahu, looking towards Diamond Head. Guests have complimentary entry to several of the island’s cultural institutions, among them Iolani Palace, the Bishop Museum, the Honolulu Museum of Art and the Manoa Heritage Center.
Spa
The renewed SpaHalekulani has three spa suites with hydrotherapy, Japanese furo soaking tubs, tropical rain showers and steam inhalation chambers, plus a separate skincare suite. Its philosophy follows the Hawaiian idea of Kawehewehe, transformation, and the menu covers massage, reiki, facials, vibroacoustic sessions, scalp treatments and zero-gravity pedicures. Products come from Epicutis and largely Hawaii-made lines, and the salon adds Yume Head Spa by Takara, cuts, colour and manicures.
Sports & leisure
The heated, oval Orchid Pool is 25 metres long and decorated with an orchid mosaic of 1.2 million glass tiles. The complimentary fitness studio has cardio and strength equipment, with daily classes and personal trainers on request. The hotel arranges surf lessons, tours of its art collection and architecture, and island drives in a Tesla.
