About this hotel
General information
The resort occupies a seventeen-storey tower on Oahu’s sunny west coast, framed by the Lanikuhonua nature preserve to the north and the four Ko Olina lagoons to the south. Architect Edward Killingsworth designed the building in 1998; it reopened as a Four Seasons in 2016 with interiors by Philpotts Interiors — banana-leaf wall coverings, furniture in local woods and bright Hawaiian accents, aiming for the ease of a private home rather than showiness.
There are 370 rooms, 55 of them suites, and every one has its own lanai. The resort is known for its four pools, including an adults-only infinity pool, the four-level Naupaka spa, tennis courts on the sixth floor of the spa building and a 203 m² Club Lounge, the largest anywhere in the Four Seasons portfolio. It holds a Four-Key Green Key eco-rating, and the #FSWayfinders programme introduces guests to Hawaiian crafts and traditions.
Location
The hotel stands on the west shore of Oahu in the Ko Olina resort area near Kapolei, about 35 minutes by car from downtown Honolulu and the shops of Waikiki, and 32 km (roughly 30 minutes) from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. Ko Olina Golf Club is next door, and Ko Olina Marina, Hawaii’s only private deep-draft marina, is a few minutes’ drive away. Car or SUV airport transfers are arranged on request, and an arrival and departure lounge with showers serves early and late travellers.
Spa
Naupaka Spa & Wellness Centre spreads over four levels and around 3,250 m², with 14 treatment rooms, three of them open-air hales looking onto the gardens. Separate men’s and women’s wet areas each have a whirlpool, sauna and steam room, and the terrace holds an 18.9-metre lap pool with a whirlpool. Treatments draw on Hawaiian techniques and island botanicals: the signature lomilomi massage, the Hāpai pregnancy massage, the spa’s own Seven Rituals facial and the Mauka and Makai body ritual, alongside sound journeys, a hair and nail boutique and manicures for children.
Sports & leisure
A tennis centre with three courts and ocean and mountain views sits on the sixth floor of the spa building, with four pickleball courts, coaching and group clinics nearby. The health club has strength and cardio equipment, group classes, personal training and sunrise yoga. The 18-hole, Ted Robinson-designed Ko Olina Golf Club is a short walk away, with its own golf academy. On the water there are complimentary stand-up paddleboards and snorkelling gear, outrigger canoe sailing, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, catamaran trips, sunset cruises and whale watching. The #FSWayfinders programme covers lauhala weaving, flower crowns, hula and stargazing, and signature outings include surfing with pro Kekoa Cazimero on the Wai Kai wave and a vintage Warbird flight over Pearl Harbor.
For children
Camp Kohola, the resort’s complimentary Kids For All Seasons club, welcomes children aged 5–12 daily from 9:00 to 17:00, with a reading lounge stocked with books and art supplies, motion-activated floor games, a video game room, a media room and a recreation room. Activities include lei making, tie-dye, basketball and tennis, evening beach glamping with crab hunting and a film, and pastries-and-painting nights. Younger children have the shallow, pebble-bottomed Keiki Pool with shaded cabanas beside the lagoon, and family pickleball sessions suit teenagers and parents together.
Restaurants & bars
Dining leans on seafood, produce from island farms and long Pacific views.
- Mina’s Fish House — Michael Mina’s ocean-view seafood restaurant, known for its lobster pot pie and hot and cold seafood towers
- La Hiki — plant-forward breakfast and lunch from local farms, with a morning buffet and a Sunday brunch featuring a poke station and grilled lobster

- Mānalo Lounge — Asian-fusion dishes and sushi at the water’s edge

In-room dining runs around the clock.
Swimming
The hotel sits on the white-sand beach of one of Ko Olina’s calm lagoons, with beach daybeds, full food and drink service, and complimentary paddleboards and snorkelling gear. There are four pools: the family Ohana Pool at the centre of the grounds, the Keiki Pool with a sandy strip leading down to the lagoon, an adults-only infinity pool on the western side with the Dr. Mai Tai’s swim-up bar, an ocean-view whirlpool and private cabanas, and the spa’s lap pool.
Pets
One pet of up to 11.3 kg is welcome per room. Pets must be kept on a lead around the resort and are not allowed in the restaurants, pools or on the beach, service animals excepted.
