About this hotel
General information
The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch is a wood-and-stone lodge in the style of a hunting lodge, set on the flank of Beaver Creek Mountain with ski-in, ski-out access. It brings together the feel of the American West and the scenery of the Rocky Mountains, and works equally well for winter and summer stays.
Rooms are styled as a modern mountain lodge, and every one looks out over the mountain or the valley. Guests have a 1,950 m² spa and fitness centre, a heated outdoor pool open all year and six restaurants and bars gathered around a three-storey stone fireplace. For events there are almost 1,400 m² of function rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and the open-air Skiers Bridge; weddings take place on a grassy terrace facing the White River National Forest, in an early-1900s cabin or in the ballroom.
Location
The hotel is in Bachelor Gulch, in the Eagle River valley at the foot of Beaver Creek Mountain. Eagle County Regional Airport is 40 km away (about half an hour’s drive) and Denver International Airport 187 km; transfers from both can be booked with Platinum Express.
Spa
The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Bachelor Gulch, 1,950 m² together with the fitness centre, has a grotto, a Himalayan salt-wall dry sauna, a steam room, hot and cold plunge pools, a recovery lounge with Theralight treatments and a nail salon; the wet areas are for guests aged 18 and over. Treatments take their cue from the mountains: ESPA facials and the signature Miner’s Mineral Mud Wrap, made with activated charcoal mud from Colorado mines.
Sports & leisure
The hotel has a heated outdoor pool and whirlpools open all year and a 24-hour fitness centre with yoga and Pilates studios, which also hosts sound bowl classes. Winter means skiing from the door, snowshoe hikes with the resort naturalist and snowmobiling; summer brings hiking in the White River National Forest, biking, fly fishing and golf, with privileged access to Red Sky Golf Club’s two courses by Tom Fazio and Greg Norman. The bar and wine team lead cocktail, wine, whisky and sake tastings.
For children
The Ritz Kids programme for ages 5–12 centres on adventure, creativity and the outdoors, in half-day and full-day sessions plus Kids Night Out evenings. Families can also book ski lessons, in-room camping with a tent and private family nights in the spa grotto.
Restaurants & bars
Dining ranges from polished dinners to après-ski on the terrace; for private meals there is the Edge of WYLD room for 12 and the historic Anderson’s Cabin for 10.
