Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail

About this hotel

General information

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail opened in December 2010 in Vail Village, the pedestrian alpine town at the foot of Vail Mountain in the Colorado Rockies. The ten-storey resort holds 90 rooms and 20 suites, with 23 multi-bedroom private residences alongside. A recent renovation gave the interiors a restrained mountain-modern look: clean lines, natural textures and fireplaces faced in local stone and wood.

Resort life gathers around a courtyard pool that stays open all year and a large outdoor fireplace where s’mores are toasted in the evening. Northern Italian cooking at Tavernetta Vail, long après-ski sessions at The Remedy and a 13-room spa sit alongside the resort’s own ski chalet by Gondola One. Function space totals 791 m², with banquets for up to 220 guests.

Location

The resort stands at One Vail Road in Vail Village, Colorado, a short walk from the village’s restaurants and shops and from the slopes of Vail Mountain; a complimentary shuttle runs around the village. Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) is 56 km away, about 30 minutes by car, and Denver International Airport 193 km, about two hours. The concierge arranges car and limousine transfers, and guests have underground valet parking.

Spa

The renovated 1,337 m² spa has 13 treatment rooms, two of them couples’ suites, plus a Relaxation Garden, a slumber room and a co-ed lounge. Separate men’s and women’s areas each have a sauna, steam room and whirlpool, and there is also a hot tub and cold plunge. The menu covers massage, facials and body treatments, lymphatic rituals using silicone cupping and gua sha, and a sensory ritual built around Gülçin Botanicals scents; a salon and barbershop complete the offer. The fitness centre, looking onto the pool terrace, is open around the clock.

Sports & leisure

In winter the concierge books ski and snowboard lessons and sleigh rides, with equipment rental through Venture Sports. Summer brings more than 80 km of paved recreation paths around Vail, hiking and mountain biking, fly fishing, whitewater rafting on the Colorado River through Glenwood Canyon, ziplining over Alkali Canyon and a full-day rafting and ATV outing to a private mountain of some 2,400 hectares. The Vail Valley has several golf courses, and the resort runs performance golf programmes with The Steadman Clinic and SPRI. Complimentary activities, whiskey tastings and cookery classes run all year.

For children

For children the concierge arranges ski lessons, après-ski activities, storytime and creative arts, and holiday events for kids and teens; there is a teen lounge and a kids’ room with books, games and films for use with an adult. Children under five eat free at Tavernetta Vail and The Remedy, and rooms can be childproofed and stocked with kids’ toiletries, robes and slippers, toys, high chairs and playpens.

Restaurants & bars

The resort has a restaurant, a bar and two casual spots, with in-room dining around the clock.

  • Tavernetta Vail — Northern Italian cooking, a list of Italian wines and French champagnes, Sunday brunch on the terrace
  • The Remedy — modern mountain cuisine from seasonal produce, craft cocktails and après-ski with live music on a fire-pit patio
  • Pool Bar — poolside drinks and spritzes, s’mores and the signature Haute Chocolate by the fire
  • Speyside Café — coffee, tea, boba, sweets and seasonal bites, plus seasonal cookery workshops
Swimming

The heated outdoor pool sits in a sunken courtyard and is open every day in every season, surrounded by loungers, two hot tubs and a large outdoor fireplace. The pool and fitness centre are reserved for overnight guests.

Skiing

The resort’s own Chalet lies in the heart of Vail Village beside Gondola One and the Vail Mountain ticket office. It works as a guest-only lounge with lockers and ski storage, giving ski-in, ski-out access to the mountain, and its team handles equipment rental, lessons, trail maps, weather and snow reports.

Pets

Pets under 11 kg are welcome in hotel rooms; they must be leashed in public areas and may not be left alone in the room. They are not allowed in the restaurants, spa, fitness centre or pool area, nor in the private residences without the resort’s written consent; pet-sitting can be arranged through the concierge with advance notice.

Rooms

The resort has 90 rooms, 20 suites and 23 private residences of one to six bedrooms, all in a mountain-modern style of local stone, wood and natural tones. The resort describes its rooms as the largest in Vail Village, and most open onto a furnished balcony or terrace facing the mountains, the village or the gardens.
