The St. Regis San Francisco

About this hotel

General information

The forty-storey tower of The St. Regis San Francisco rises from the historic early-twentieth-century Williams Building, next to the Museum of Modern Art, the business district and downtown. The same building is home to the Museum of the African Diaspora, devoted to African art and culture.

Rooms are finished in fumed oak and limestone, with Frette linens and large windows over the bay and the city skyline, and the signature St. Regis Butler service looks after suite guests. For events there are 10 rooms with more than 2,000 m² in all, among them the 400-guest Gallery Ballroom and the 334 m² Yerba Buena Terrace, plus a 24-hour business centre; weddings are arranged in-house.

Location

The hotel is in the central SoMa district, next to SFMOMA and Yerba Buena Gardens and close to Union Square, the Financial District and San Francisco’s main sights.

Spa

The Spa at The St. Regis San Francisco spreads over two levels and 836 m², with bespoke massages, advanced facials and body rituals. Before or after a treatment guests can use the cedar sauna, eucalyptus steam room, Himalayan Salt Room and quiet lounges, and the indoor pool adjoins the spa.

Sports & leisure

The fitness centre has Technogym equipment, Peloton bikes, free weights and strength machines, alongside a dedicated yoga and meditation room. The bar hosts sabrage masterclasses, the concierge books SFJAZZ concerts, de Young Museum exhibitions and trips to the Napa Valley wineries, and on select evenings the house car drops guests anywhere within 3 km at no charge.

For children

The Family Traditions programme looks after young guests with child-sized robes and slippers, the Astor Library Cart of bedtime books, and city outings arranged by the concierge.

Restaurants & bars

Dining centres on a restaurant, a bar and a tea salon.

  • Astra — modern American cooking from seasonal, locally sourced ingredients in a relaxed, refined room
  • The St. Regis Bar — bespoke cocktails and elevated dishes, the Golden Gate Mary as the local take on the St. Regis Bloody Mary, champagne with caviar and a nightly sabrage ritual
  • The Salon — afternoon tea from Thursday to Sunday, with TEALEAVES blends and the pastry chef’s pairings
  • The Williams — a private dining room for 36 around a single table, with a smaller room for 20
