Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at Embarcadero

About this hotel

General information

Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at Embarcadero occupies the top eleven floors of 345 California Center, a 48-storey tower in San Francisco’s Financial District designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The rooms fill twin crowns linked by glass skybridges, so windows face the bay, the bridges or the skyline, and interiors with natural wood floors and hand-tufted wool rugs take their cues from local architecture and the city’s famous streetcars.

The hotel suits business and leisure stays alike, with the Italian restaurant Orafo and its bar, a 24-hour fitness centre, a business centre and an open-air 40th-floor terrace overlooking the city. The concierge can arrange excursions, car hire and limousines.

Location

The hotel is in central San Francisco, beside the California Street cable car line and the Jackson Square district, a few minutes’ walk from Fisherman’s Wharf, the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero, Union Square and Chinatown. The international airport is 23 km away, around 20 minutes by car.

Sports & leisure

The bright, 24-hour fitness centre on the third floor has Precor and Hoist equipment, a Peloton bike and free weights, with personal trainers on request; it is open to guests aged 16 and over. Yoga classes are held on the open-air 40th-floor terrace, and an in-room workout kit with Bala weights and a Manduka mat can be delivered.

For children

Young guests receive complimentary extras: a welcome amenity, child-sized robes, cribs and playpens, a bottle warmer, a baby bathtub, a high chair and a pop-up tent, while the concierge plans family itineraries around the city.

Restaurants & bars

Orafo, Italian for “goldsmith” and a nod to the Gold Rush, serves fresh pasta, local seafood and sharing plates — Italian classics built on California’s farm produce — while its bar focuses on inventive cocktails. A semi-private room seats groups of up to 40, and in-room dining is available.

Pets

Dogs and cats up to 11 kg are welcome for a fee, with dedicated pet menus and beds. Outside the room they must be on a lead, they may not be left alone, and apart from guide dogs they are not allowed in the restaurant.

Rooms

The 155 rooms and suites sit between the 38th and 48th floors, their large windows framing the bay, the Golden Gate and Bay bridges and downtown.

In each room

Each room has a 55- or 65-inch flat-screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, a safe, a bar stocked with local spirits on request, a Nespresso machine and kettle, down duvets, robes and slippers, and Codage Paris bath products.
