General information
The Grand Hotel Punta del Este stands right on the seafront of Playa Brava, on the Atlantic side of Punta del Este. Its bold, contemporary building was conceived to look like a ship gazing out to sea, and its silhouette has become a familiar sight along the rambla, the ocean road that follows the beach. Rooms on the ocean side look across the open Atlantic to Lobos Island.
There are 178 rooms: 118 in the main building and 60 in the Fortunée Tower, where the interiors pair art with in-room smart technology. Beyond the beach, guests have The Grand Spa & Fitness with its indoor heated pool, a semi-Olympic outdoor pool set among gardens, a kids' club, a private cinema and the HUMA bar on the ninth floor. The Grand Center ballroom, which divides into the Mansa and Brava rooms, hosts conferences and private occasions.
Location
The hotel sits on the rambla along Playa Brava at Parada 10, on the Atlantic shore of Punta del Este in the department of Maldonado and a short way from the heart of the peninsula. The nearby sights the hotel itself recommends include the Los Dedos hand sculpture, the Punta del Este lighthouse, the port and Casapueblo.
Spa
The Grand Spa & Fitness has private massage rooms, a hydrotherapy circuit, an indoor heated pool, a Roman bath, a steam sauna and a Scottish shower. The Arlene beauty salon offers haircuts, styling and colouring, manicures, pedicures and make-up.
Sports & leisure
Most of the activity happens within the hotel itself:
- a semi-Olympic outdoor pool among the gardens, plus the indoor heated pool in the spa
- a fitness centre with modern cardio and strength equipment, TV screens and tailored training programmes; yoga and aqua-gym classes
- complimentary bicycles for guests all year round

For children
Children have three spaces of their own: a baby room for ages 0–4 and a kids' club for ages 5–11, both open daily from 8 am (until 8 pm Sunday to Thursday and 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays), and a games room for teenagers from 12, open every day from 8 am to midnight.
Restaurants & bars
The kitchen works with produce from local farmers and fishermen, prepared with international technique.

- Lobby Bar — a bright, spacious bar for business lunches, afternoon tea and relaxed dinners
- HUMA Rooftop Bar & Lounge — a ninth-floor bar with a circular counter, signature cocktails and international dishes, looking over Playa Brava; open Wednesday to Sunday evenings
- room service from 7 am until midnight
Swimming
The hotel opens directly onto Playa Brava. In summer, a beach service on the sand in front of the hotel is reserved for its guests, with loungers, umbrellas, towels, tables and chairs, as well as light food and drinks. There are also two pools: a semi-Olympic outdoor pool among the gardens and an indoor heated pool in the spa.
Rooms
The 178 rooms and suites are divided between the main building (118), where most rooms face the ocean and some have large curved windows, and the Fortunée Tower (60), whose rooms and junior suites look out to the sea, the peninsula or a wooded park and have smart controls for lighting, temperature and curtains.
Every room has free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a smart TV, a minibar, a safe, an espresso machine, a sofa, a hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers, with room service available.
Garden View

Grand Suite
One of two seventh-floor suites, with a large curved window onto the ocean, a living room, a guest toilet, a bedroom with a king-size bed, a jacuzzi bathroom, a Geneva sound system and binoculars. Sleeps up to 3.
Presidential Suite
Top-floor suite with 180-degree views over Playa Brava and Lobos Island: two bedrooms with king-size beds, two bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchenette, a desk and a guest toilet. Sleeps up to 4.
Park View Room | Fortunée Tower
