General information
Fasano Punta del Este occupies Las Piedras, a 490-hectare estate on the banks of the Maldonado river in La Barra. The idea is countryside and sea in a single view: the grounds look out over hills, meadows and the river towards the coast, and the architecture follows the lie of the land. The main restaurant crowns a hilltop, its dining room partly cut into the rock, and the pool is carved into a natural rock slope.
The hotel is small, with 30 bungalows spread across the grounds and 10 rooms in the Locanda Fasano building, which also has a lounge, pool, solarium and bar. Bathrooms are finished in marble, and the kitchens draw on the Fasano group's long restaurant tradition. Summer brings a lively resort rhythm to the coast around Punta del Este; for the rest of the year the area is quiet and unhurried, which is when the estate feels most like a country retreat.
Location
The estate lies in the department of Maldonado, on the Maldonado river in La Barra, close to the Atlantic beaches of Punta del Este. In summer the hotel runs its own beach club on La Barra beach and a riverside club on the Maldonado.
Spa
Spa Fasano is devoted to rest and recovery, with heated indoor pools, saunas, a steam room, a fitness centre, four massage rooms and a yoga room. Its signature treatment, Los Cuentos de Las Piedras, pairs Uruguayan amethyst crystals and heated stones with lavender and a slow, deep massage.

- Las Piedras — a relaxed Italian trattoria with French doors onto an inner garden and walls lined with rare books; breakfast and lunch daily in high season, parrilla on Saturdays.
- Locanda — a cosy, rustic spot for unhurried meals: panini, carpaccio, pizza.
- Poolside Bar — a light menu and drinks by the pool.
- Beach Club — light meals and drinks facing the sea, summer only.
Swimming
The main pool is carved into the rock of the hillside, and the spa adds heated indoor pools. In summer guests can use the River Club, a stretch of riverbank on the Maldonado with sunbathing space and beach service, and the Beach Club on La Barra beach, where beach service is also provided for hotel guests.

The hotel has 30 bungalows in the Deluxe and Suite categories across the estate and 10 rooms in three categories in the Locanda Fasano building, all with panoramic views over the estate and the surrounding country.
Every room has Egyptian cotton bedlinen, goose-down pillows, a marble bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower, heating and air conditioning.
Bungalow Suite

Locanda Suite
A suite in the Locanda Fasano building with a king-size bed, a separate living room and a walk-in wardrobe. The balcony takes in the whole Las Piedras estate; the marble bathroom has a walk-in shower and a soaking tub.
Locanda Deluxe
A room in the Locanda Fasano building with a king-size bed or two twin beds and a balcony overlooking the estate. Marble bathroom with walk-in shower and soaking tub.
Locanda Superior
A compact room in the Locanda Fasano building with a king-size bed and panoramic views over the Las Piedras estate. Marble bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower.
