Palace Del Mar

About this hotel

General information

Palace Del Mar is a palace in its own park in Arcadia, Odesa’s seaside quarter, a few minutes’ walk from the Black Sea. The building is a protected architectural monument, and its restoration has kept the ceremonial feel of the interiors: stained-glass windows, chandeliers and handmade furniture. Around it spreads a park of more than 200 plant species, with a green courtyard where a fountain plays among old columns.

With only 35 rooms, the hotel stays intimate, and most rooms open onto a terrace looking over the park, the pool or the sea. Days tend to move between the outdoor pool set in greenery, La Maison restaurant and its Mediterranean cooking, the tennis court, the gym, the sauna and the beauty salon. Breakfast is served every morning, room service is available and guest parking is free.

Location

The hotel stands at 1 Kryshtalevyi Lane in Arcadia, the resort end of Odesa’s Prymorskyi District. The Black Sea shore is about a three-minute walk away, and the hotel terrace looks out to sea. Arcadia is an easy base for exploring the UNESCO-listed historic centre of Odesa, with the Opera and Ballet Theatre and Prymorskyi Boulevard. The main railway station is around 30 minutes by car, and the hotel arranges transfers on request.

Spa

Pampering is centred on the hotel’s beauty salon, which offers cosmetic treatments, massage, body care, manicures and pedicures, hairdressing and make-up. A sauna completes the picture.

Sports & leisure

There is a tennis court, with an instructor available on request, and a gym equipped with exercise machines that also hosts fitness classes. The outdoor pool is ringed by flowers and plants, the park around the palace lends itself to unhurried walks, and the Arcadia beaches are a few minutes away on foot.

Restaurants & bars

La Maison serves Mediterranean and European cuisine, with Italian pasta made in-house as its speciality. Guests can dine in the Mediterranean-style room, in the green courtyard by the fountain and its old columns, or beside the pool, which has its own bar softly lit in the evening. A banquet hall with a stained-glass ceiling and its own terrace is kept for celebrations, and dishes can also be brought to the rooms.

Swimming

The outdoor pool sits in a quiet corner of the grounds among flowers and plants, with a bar close by; first-floor Standard rooms have direct access to it. The Arcadia beaches on the Black Sea are a three-minute walk away, so in season a day divides easily between the pool and the sea.

Rooms

The 35 rooms and suites are spread over four floors of the palace; most have an open terrace and look over the park, the pool or the sea. Categories rise from standard rooms to fourth-floor penthouses with large terraces and a first-floor suite with its own terrace by the fountain.
