General information
Citadel – Gastro Boutique Hotel is an intimate hotel on Lviv’s Citadel hill, set inside a round 19th-century fortress tower. The walls of the old defensive building now enclose just 26 rooms and suites, and the tower stands in a landscaped park planted with more than 150 plant species. Murals on its walls show cannons firing flowers instead of cannonballs.
Food is the heart of the place. The third-floor restaurant looks out over historic Lviv and cooks with Ukrainian produce from local farmers, while a wine cellar, a lobby bar and a summer terrace fill out the evening. The hotel hosts gastronomic evenings, tastings, weddings and private celebrations, and has a conference hall, a private meeting room, a small spa with a Finnish sauna and a gym; breakfast and guarded parking are included in the stay.
Location
The hotel stands at 11 Hrabovskoho Street on Citadel hill in central Lviv, surrounded by parkland. From here it is an easy walk into Lviv’s UNESCO-listed historic centre — Rynok Square, the City Hall tower, the Lviv National Opera and the coffee houses of the old quarters. Guarded parking and an electric-vehicle charging point are on site.
Spa
The small spa is a quiet, candlelit retreat scented with aromatic oils and soft music. It has a Finnish sauna that can be reserved for private use, a relaxation room and a massage menu covering classic, back, head-and-neck, sports, lymphatic drainage, anti-cellulite and aroma massages. Spa access is included in the stay; the relaxation area is best booked an hour and a half to two hours ahead.
Sports & leisure
There is a gym alongside the Finnish sauna and relaxation room. Leisure here leans towards the table: tastings in the wine cellar, evenings with chefs and winemakers, and an afternoon tea served on a three-tier stand of savoury and sweet bites with a talk on tea traditions. The park around the tower suits an unhurried stroll, and Rynok Square, High Castle hill and Lviv’s coffee and chocolate houses are within walking reach.

Twenty-six classically styled rooms — 13 Standard, 11 Superior and two suites — with soft carpets, comfortable furnishings and warm colours.
Every room has air conditioning and adjustable heating, a safe, an iron, a flat-screen satellite TV, a telephone, a minibar, free Wi-Fi and a bathroom with a walk-in shower, separate WC, bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer and toiletries.
Standard
A first-floor room in warm pastel tones with a king-size bed or twin beds, a writing desk, a coffee table and a kettle. Sleeps up to three.
Superior
A second-floor room with panoramic views, a king-size bed or twin beds, soft furnishings, a desk and a coffee machine. Sleeps up to three.
Suite De Luxe
A suite with a king-size bedroom and a living room with a sofa bed, crystal chandeliers and a marble-finished bathroom. Sleeps up to four.
