Princes' Palace Resort

About this hotel

General information

Princes’ Palace Resort occupies a green hillside on Büyükada, the largest of the Princes’ Islands in the Sea of Marmara, a short boat ride from Istanbul. The estate is arranged around a grand, carefully restored 19th-century mansion whose salons, suites and glazed conservatory poolhouse set the tone for the whole resort, while landscaped gardens and terraces fall away towards the water.

There are 70 keys in all, 56 of them suites, most looking out over the sea, with interiors that pair warm wood and woven textures with Ottoman-inspired detailing. A private lagoon beach, infinity pools, a tennis court, ANIM Wellbeing & Spa and yacht outings make it a self-contained island retreat, with the city still close at hand by water.

Location

The resort sits on the heights of Büyükada, looking over the Sea of Marmara and, from the upper suites, towards the Istanbul skyline. The island is reached from the city by boat; the hotel arranges transfers by sea and by road, and guests’ yachts can moor at the resort. Istanbul Airport is about 72 km away and Sabiha Gökçen Airport about 41 km; the nearest high-speed train stations are Bostancı and Pendik.

Spa

ANIM Wellbeing & Spa brings together time-honoured healing traditions and a modern, science-led approach, shaping each programme around the guest. Facilities include a hammam, a gold-glazed pool facing the Sea of Marmara, a sauna and steam room, a relaxation lounge and a barber and beauty salon. The menu covers massages, facials and body treatments, alongside yoga, meditation and personal training.

Sports & leisure

The resort has a tennis court, a gym with cardio and strength equipment, and indoor and outdoor pools. Yoga, meditation and personal training sessions are offered, and the hotel arranges yacht excursions on the Sea of Marmara as well as sightseeing tours of the island and of Istanbul.

Restaurants & bars

Dining moves from the mansion to the shore and up to the roof — a chef’s menu indoors, grilled seafood by the water and cocktails at sunset.

  • Dining Room — the main restaurant, with a carefully composed chef’s menu; breakfast is served here
  • Lounge & Bar — Mediterranean flavours and signature cocktails in the waterfront Yacht Club, which guests can reach by boat; open in season
  • Beach Bar — drinks and light bites by the sea, in season
  • Roof Terrace Bar — wine and cocktails with views over Istanbul and the sunset, in season
  • Sea Lagoon & Pool — snacks and light lunches beside the lagoon and pool
Swimming

The resort has its own beach set around a sheltered sea lagoon, with direct access to the clear water of the Sea of Marmara; the Cabana suites lie almost at the shoreline. Infinity pools, the conservatory poolhouse in the mansion and the spa’s sea-view pool complete the picture, and snacks are served by the lagoon during the day.

Pets

Pets are welcome, subject to the hotel’s conditions.
