General information
Maçakızı Hotel is an intimate retreat on a green hillside above Türkbükü Bay, on the northern shore of the Bodrum peninsula. Its name is Turkish for the queen of spades. The buildings step down the slope in several levels from the hilltop to the water's edge, set among bougainvillea-filled gardens, with the turquoise Aegean in view from almost every terrace.
The mood is relaxed but polished: understated luxury at a Mediterranean pace, built around long lunches and days on the beach deck. The hotel is best known for its food — Maçakızı Restaurant cooks with produce from local growers and the hotel's own kitchen gardens — and for the deck over the sea where yachts tie up. The gardens overlooking the bay also host private celebrations and weddings.
Location
The hotel lies in the village of Türkbükü on the north side of the Bodrum peninsula, 22 km from Bodrum town centre and 40 km from Milas–Bodrum Airport; İzmir and Dalaman airports are within a three-hour drive. A return airport transfer by car is included with every booking, and a meet-and-greet service can be arranged at Milas–Bodrum Airport. Private car journeys further afield are available for a fee, and the hotel's own boats carry guests along the coast by sea.
Spa
Maçakızı Spa offers a traditional Turkish hammam and a range of massages, with therapists tailoring each guest's treatments.
Sports & leisure
Maçakızı Gym has both indoor and outdoor training areas with up-to-date equipment, free for all hotel guests. The hotel's boats can be taken out for a full day at sea or simply used to get around by sea, as Bodrum locals do. Private drives around the peninsula and along the coast can be arranged on request, and the gardens and waterfront are set up for private events and weddings.

Food is at the heart of Maçakızı, with menus built on seasonal produce from local suppliers and the hotel's own gardens.

Swimming
Instead of a sandy beach, the hotel has a private wooden deck over the sea with comfortable sunbeds and shaded loggias. Two pontoons are open from morning to evening for yachts calling at the bay.
Rooms
Ten categories, from 35 m² rooms to two-bedroom duplex villas, are spread across the levels of the hillside: the lower ones sit close to the beach, the upper ones have the widest sea views. Because of the slope, some sea-view rooms look out to the water only partially.
