General information
Grand Hyatt Istanbul stands in Harbiye, a business and cultural quarter on the city’s European side, a few minutes’ walk from Taksim Square. It is a large city hotel set within its own gardens, which is what sets it apart in the dense centre: the greenery hides an outdoor pool, a tennis court and open-air summer restaurants.
The 360 rooms and suites look out over the city, the gardens or the Bosphorus, and every one has a marble bathroom. There is the Gaia Spa with a traditional hammam, a fitness centre open around the clock, several restaurants and bars, and a Grand Club floor. The hotel is well known for business gatherings and celebrations, with almost 2,000 m² of function space – ballrooms and rooms styled like a private mansion – suited to everything from small meetings to large weddings.
Location
The hotel lies in Harbiye, in the Şişli district, close to Taksim Square, İstiklal Avenue and Maçka Park, with Nişantaşı and Dolmabahçe Palace nearby; Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapı Palace are an easy trip across the centre. The M2 metro at Taksim and the cable car down to Maçka Park are close at hand. Istanbul Airport is about 38 km away and Sabiha Gökçen Airport about 40 km; the hotel arranges transfers on request, and the airport buses from Istanbul Airport stop a three-minute walk away.
Spa
Gaia Spa brings together the Turkish bathing tradition and contemporary spa therapies. Its hammam, with white marble floors, high ceilings and a heated central marble stone, is joined by a private hammam for individual rituals, a sauna, a steam room and a relaxation area, plus four treatment rooms. Facials and body treatments use Biologique Recherche products. Signatures include the Gaia Massage, which blends Swedish and deep-tissue techniques with rosemary, orange and lemongrass oils, the Jetlag Recovery ritual pairing a hammam cleanse with massage, and bathing rituals with scrubs, foam massage, masks and sherbet.
Sports & leisure
The fitness centre, equipped with Life Fitness and Technogym cardio and strength machines, is open to hotel guests around the clock and runs yoga, Pilates and Reformer Pilates classes as well as personal training; evening mat Pilates groups are complimentary for guests. A tennis court in the garden is available for independent play or lessons with a coach, by reservation. The outdoor pool opens in season, and the hotel’s Local Culture Guide points guests to the city’s places, food and cultural life.
For children
A separate children’s pool sits beside the main outdoor pool.
Restaurants & bars
The hotel has several restaurants and bars, some of them in the garden, and in-room dining is available around the clock.
- 34 – an open-kitchen restaurant serving from breakfast to dinner, with seasonal Turkish and Mediterranean dishes, private dining rooms and a patio with a fireplace
- L’Entrecôte at Library – an evening restaurant in the library bar for French classics, from entrecôte with Café de Paris sauce to crème brûlée, plus late-night bites and drinks

Swimming
There is no beach. The outdoor pool, 25 m long and 12.5 m wide, lies within the gardens, with sunbed areas on the lawns, and opens in season. A separate children’s pool is alongside.
Pets
Pets up to 15 kg are welcome; arrangements are best made with the hotel in advance.
Rooms
The 360 rooms and suites face the city, the gardens, the pool or the Bosphorus. Besides rooms of 38–42 m², there are family options, suites with kitchens, duplex suites with terraces and a penthouse with four terraces and balconies.
Each room has a 55-inch flat-screen TV, a Bluetooth clock radio with charging, individual climate control, blackout curtains, a minibar, a kettle, a safe, an iron and board, free internet, bathrobes and slippers, and a marble bathroom with bathtub, rain shower and hairdryer.
