About this hotel
General information
Çırağan Palace Kempinski Istanbul occupies Çırağan Palace, a 19th-century building in the classical style on the European shore of the Bosphorus, between Beşiktaş and Ortaköy. The palace keeps its original façade facing the water, while a modern hotel building stands a little further back. A long waterfront runs between the two, and butlers ferry guests from one to the other by buggy.
There are 317 rooms and suites: the rooms and most suites are in the modern building, and the palace suites, each with a 24-hour butler, are in the historic one. Interiors draw on Ottoman decorative art, with tulip and floral motifs, embroidered fabrics, furniture inlaid with mother-of-pearl and ebony, and marble bathrooms styled after the hammam. The hotel is best known for its heated infinity pool at the water's edge, the Tuğra restaurant inside the palace halls, and gardens of palms and magnolia that host weddings and receptions.
Location
The hotel sits on the Bosphorus between the Beşiktaş and Ortaköy districts, beside Yıldız Park, with views across the strait to the Asian shore and the historic peninsula. Istanbul Airport is about 45 km away and Sabiha Gökçen Airport about 50 km. The concierge arranges private transfers from both airports, and guests can also arrive by boat at the hotel's own pier or by helicopter at its helipad. Secure parking is available for guests arriving by car.
Spa
Sanitas Spa has an indoor pool, a whirlpool, a sauna, a steam room and a traditional hammam for Turkish bath rituals with soap foam and massage. The menu includes the Sanitas Signature Massage, ayurveda, shiatsu, Thai massage, La Stone hot-stone therapy, the hammam-based Pasha Treatment, the Sultan and VIP treatments, couples' programmes, facials and body care such as seaweed wraps and Selvert gold body treatments, plus slimming and firming programmes.
Sports & leisure
The fitness centre, with cardio and strength equipment, is open from early morning until late evening, and clinical Pilates sessions take place in the spa. By day guests settle around the outdoor pool above the Bosphorus, and in season picnics are laid out in the palace gardens by the water. Once a week a licensed guide leads a tour of the historic palace building (in English, by prior booking). Ortaköy and Yıldız Park are close by for walks.
Restaurants & bars
Restaurants and bars are spread across the historic palace, the modern building and the gardens; a buffet breakfast is served daily.

Swimming
The heated outdoor infinity pool sits right on the Bosphorus shore, so its water seems to run into the strait; sun loungers line the deck. It is open daily from morning to evening, and a second, indoor pool is in Sanitas Spa. The hotel has no beach of its own.
Pets
Cats and dogs up to 10 kg are welcome; the hotel should be told in advance. Other pets are not accepted, and service animals are exempt from these rules.
