About this hotel
General information
Ahãma is an intimate hotel on Günlüklü Bay near Fethiye, on the Turkish Riviera, a short drive from the yachting harbour of Göcek. Its name comes from an ancient Lycian word meaning “beloved”. Around it lie 20 hectares of protected forest of Oriental sweetgum, a rare tree native only to this corner of south-western Turkey, together with cedar and pine. Peacocks, swans, emus, ducks and pond turtles share the grounds, and the hotel’s own hens supply the eggs for breakfast.
The architecture draws on ancient Lycia and the restraint of Japanese design. There are 60 places to stay — cabanas, forest guest houses and a private villa on the shore — and the focus is on slow restoration: a spa at the edge of the forest, the Sound Temple among the trees, sunrise yoga above the bay and six restaurants and bars. Families are welcome with children aged 5 and over.
Location
The hotel sits on Günlüklü Bay in the Fethiye district, 15 minutes by road from Göcek, 20 minutes from Ölüdeniz beach and 32 km (about 40 minutes) from Dalaman Airport. Arrival options include a VIP transfer, bus or taxi. Yachts and tenders come in directly from the marinas of Göcek and Fethiye, and a yachting concierge looks after guests arriving by sea. Kayaköy, Saklıkent Gorge, Butterfly Valley, Fethiye’s old town and the Lycian rock tombs are all close by; Marmaris is an hour and a half’s drive away, Antalya three hours and Bodrum three and a half.
Spa
The spa sits at the forest edge, its treatment rooms open to the light and the scent of pine. The menu covers therapeutic massage, body rituals, facials and hammam-style cleansing ceremonies, with products based on local botanicals — above all the resin of the sweetgum, long used in Anatolian folk medicine. A thermal circuit is open all day without appointments: steam room, sauna, a red-light therapy lounge, a cold plunge and a magnesium resting area.
In the forest above the hotel, the Sound Temple hosts sound sessions with gongs and crystal bowls, while the open-air Sky Shala platform over the bay holds sunrise yoga, tai chi, qi gong and breathwork. The programme also includes somatic movement, forest bathing and herbalism, with visiting practitioners and teachers each season. Massages and rituals can also be arranged on board guests’ yachts.
Sports & leisure
A glass-walled gym stands in a clearing between the forest and the lake, with an outdoor gym nearby. There are pickleball courts, beach volleyball and bicycles for exploring forest paths and the coast. On the water, guided stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking are offered, and a four-hour boat trip calls at four bays around Göcek for swimming, paddleboarding and snorkelling; the afternoon departure ends at a sunset spot. Evenings bring fire gatherings and stargazing on the beach, and the Art Atelier runs hands-on, nature-inspired creative workshops. For visiting yachts the hotel arranges provisioning and day use of the beach club, spa and gym.
For children
Children aged 5 and over can join the Art Atelier’s creative workshops, with nature-themed activities, outdoor survival skills and eco-minded projects.
Restaurants & bars
Cooking follows the seasons, the day’s catch and herbs from the hotel’s own gardens.
- Glasshouse — a glass-walled room facing the forest and the bay: à la carte breakfast with eggs from the hotel’s hens, Mediterranean lunches and relaxed dinners
- Mezkla — a beach club and restaurant on the shore, pairing Mexican and Mediterranean flavours: grilled seafood, sharing plates and cocktails, with DJs and live musicians in the evening
- Ege — the hotel’s signature restaurant by the water: Aegean cooking built on whole fish from the morning catch, crab, shellfish and mezze, with natural and organic wines from both shores of the Aegean
- AY — open-fire cooking in the Anatolian ocakbaşı tradition: kebabs, aged meats, vegetables from the coals, mezze and rakı
- UMI — a waterfront bar with a Japanese accent: sushi and sashimi from the morning catch, ceremonial matcha and sake
- Karşı Koy — lunch in a secluded cove reached only by boat: seasonal mezze, seafood and lobster spaghetti, with a weekly Nomad Barbecue around the fire at sunset
