General information
Santiburi means “city of tranquillity” in Thai, and this resort on Koh Samui’s quiet north coast lives up to it. Its buildings stand beneath spreading palms among emerald lawns, shade trees and lotus ponds, beside the 300-metre white sweep of Mae Nam Beach — one of the island’s loveliest. Rooms are done in a contemporary Thai style, with balconies and terraces facing the sea or the gardens.
There is a spa, a gym, a 50-metre pool and water sports and dive centres; the restaurants keep to Thai cooking, and the bars serve cocktails and light bites. Conference rooms, a business centre and outdoor venues serve events, and the resort arranges weddings and honeymoon programmes, with a florist on hand.
Location
The resort is beside Mae Nam Beach on Koh Samui’s north coast, 15 minutes by car from the international airport and 20 minutes from Nathon town and the busy Chaweng area.
Spa
The spa has treatment rooms, a sauna, a jacuzzi and a beauty salon. Its menu covers a range of massages, face and body treatments, cosmetic therapies, natural-product programmes and a full wellness programme.
Sports & leisure
The 50-metre outdoor pool is joined by a modern gym and a mini golf course. Muay Thai lessons are available, there is a water sports centre and a dive centre, and the resort runs sea cruises, entertainment and shows.
For children
There is a kids’ club, and babysitting is available on request.
