About this hotel
General information
TAI Urban Resort occupies a high-rise on Linsen 4th Road in Qianzhen, among the new towers of Kaohsiung’s Asia New Bay Area. It was conceived as an urban resort that doubles as a cultural living room: a double-height wall of books from many countries rises through the lobby, tall windows let in the southern sun, and the building holds a bookshop, a café-gallery and spaces for exhibitions and talks.
The 208 rooms and suites look out over the city or the harbour. The defining feature is a cantilevered, glass-sided infinity pool on the 24th floor, where guests watch the sun set over the bay. The upper storeys are given over to open-air restaurants and bars, a gym with a boxing ring and a spa, while the hotel’s own yacht takes guests out to sea. A number of rooms are art spaces created by Taiwanese and Japanese artists.
Location
The hotel is in Qianzhen, in the Asia New Bay Area close to Kaohsiung Harbour; a covered seventh-floor footbridge leads straight to the Kaohsiung Main Public Library. Sanduo Shopping District metro station (exit 2) is about a 10-minute walk away and the light-rail stop by the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center about 8 minutes. From the railway station, the high-speed rail station and Kaohsiung International Airport, the hotel suggests taking the metro; on request it arranges a paid transfer in its own car.
Spa
SWISSPA fills the 22nd floor, with views over the harbour and the bay. Treatments use Swiss SWISSLINE skincare and French TERRIS plant oils: body massages, facials and skin programmes, body-contouring sessions, pregnancy massage and scalp care, plus a Japanese warm-stone bathing room. A hair and nail salon completes it. The spa is open daily from 10:00 to 21:00, and treatments are booked ahead, ideally a day in advance.
Sports & leisure
PUNCH OUT GYM on the 23rd floor is open from 07:00 to 22:00 and adds an octagonal boxing ring to its equipment, with the city spread out below the windows. Two karaoke rooms on the 24th floor take care of the evenings. The hotel’s own 46-foot yacht has a broad cushioned deck, a saloon with 360-degree views, a galley, a bathroom, a double cabin and karaoke, with a captain, crew and host on board and water toys for time on the sea. On the seventh floor, City Wind Books hosts talks and small exhibitions.
For children
On the seventh floor, an open-air children’s playground is shaped like a whale, with a climbing wall and a slide. It is open daily from 11:00 to 17:00, and children under 12 play under adult supervision.

Restaurants, bars and cafés run from the basement up to the 27th floor:
- BAR KAO — 27th-floor bar with a 360-degree view and private booths, Thai cooking and cocktails

Swimming
There is no beach. The cantilevered infinity pool on the 24th floor has transparent sides and projects out over the city; it is open daily from 07:00 to 21:00 for hotel guests and club members, with towels and water provided. Children under 12 (or under 150 cm) swim only with adult supervision.
Pets
Pets are not accepted, with the exception of guide dogs.
