About this hotel
General information
Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei occupies a 43-storey tower on Dunhua South Road in the Da'an district. Its 420 rooms and suites run from the 9th to the 37th floor, so windows look out across Taipei and the surrounding mountains, and many frame Taipei 101. The lobby connects directly with The Mall shopping centre.
The interiors mix Eastern and Western touches, with artworks drawing on classical Song-dynasty pieces. Within the tower are Cantonese, Shanghainese, Japanese and Italian restaurants — two of them on the 38th and 39th floors — a heated rooftop pool, a Health Club and a VALMONT spa. The Horizon Club on the 36th floor looks after club-room and suite guests, while ballrooms and meeting rooms make the hotel equally suited to business stays.
Location
The hotel stands on tree-lined Dunhua South Road in Da'an, about 8 minutes' walk from Liuzhangli metro station and 10 minutes from Xinyi Anhe. Daan Forest Park and the cocktail bars of the Xinyi Anhe district are minutes away, and Linjiang Street Night Market about a 10-minute walk. Taoyuan International Airport is around 45 minutes by car and Songshan Airport around 20 minutes; the hotel limousine should be booked at least half a day before arrival. The airport bus to Taoyuan (route 1960, about 1 hour 10 minutes) stops right outside the hotel.
Spa
The spa is run with VALMONT, the Swiss cellular skincare brand, whose signature "Butterfly Motion" technique pairs its formulas with soothing massage set to alpine music. The menu covers rituals exclusive to the hotel — among them the Serenity Sanctuary Ritual, Skyline Radiance & Silhouette Ritual and Ultimate Chrono-Reversing Intensive Ritual — alongside facials, body treatments and short add-ons. The spa opens daily from midday, and massages are also offered in the Health Club.
Sports & leisure
The Health Club has a fully equipped gym with personal trainers, open around the clock to hotel guests, and a studio for group classes — Zumba, yoga, interval and core training, stretching and dance — booked in advance. Dry saunas, steam rooms, a hot whirlpool bath, massages and two pools, one on the roof and one on the 7th floor, complete the facilities.
For children
The hotel offers babysitting and childcare.
Restaurants & bars
Restaurants and bars fill the lower floors and the top of the tower, and room service runs 24 hours.

Swimming
The heated outdoor pool on the 43rd-floor roof is set against views over Taipei; it opens daily from 6 am to 9 pm, until 10 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of public holidays, and dishes from the in-room dining menu can be ordered poolside. A second outdoor pool on the 7th floor opens in summer.
