Regent Taipei

About this hotel

General information

Regent Taipei is a large city hotel in the Zhongshan district, set among business streets, shopping lanes and leafy city parks. Its 538 rooms include 60 suites; floor-to-ceiling windows look over the city or the greenery, and interiors keep to soft earth tones with marble bathrooms. At the heart of the building is a three-storey atrium filled with live music in the evenings.

Dining is what the hotel is best known for: eight restaurants and bars cover Cantonese, Shanghainese and Japanese cooking, a steakhouse and teppanyaki. The Wellspring Spa and a heated pool sit on the top floors, and butlers look after guests on the two Tai Pan executive floors. The lower levels hold the Regent Galleria boutiques, a lift ride from the lobby, while a ballroom for 800 guests and nine function rooms host events.

Location

The hotel sits in the Zhongshan district in central Taipei, about six minutes' walk from exit 3 of Zhongshan MRT station and five minutes from Chifeng Street with its small shops and cafés. Taipei Main Station is close by: high-speed rail travellers continue by metro to Zhongshan. Shilin Night Market is 11–15 minutes away, Taipei 101 a 20–25-minute drive and the National Palace Museum around 35 minutes. Taoyuan International Airport is about 40 minutes by car; the hotel arranges private transfers sized to the party, and valet parking is available.

Spa

The Wellspring Spa occupies the top floor of the hotel, with eight single and two double treatment rooms, each with a steam shower and its own bath. Treatments draw on massage traditions from around the world, Thai techniques among them: Chakra Classical is a full-body massage blending Asian and European techniques with singing bowls and an aromatic bath, while the Crystal Glow Facial combines cleansing, exfoliation and facial drainage. The spa is open daily from 10:00 to 23:00.

Sports & leisure

The Health Club on level B3 has modern equipment, yoga classes and personal trainers who design individual programmes; it is open to guests aged 16 and over. On the 20th floor, Sky Studio — mirrored walls, wooden floors, TRX rigs — hosts small-group yoga, core and suspension training, next to the heated rooftop pool. The concierge arranges sightseeing, and the Regent Academy offers half-day outings with local experts, from the old Dadaocheng quarter and Dihua Street to a food-culture visit to the National Palace Museum with a hands-on cooking session.

For children

The Fairytale Game Room on the fifth floor is stocked with educational toys, play kitchens, a children's reading corner and board games, and opens on Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays. Babysitting can be arranged on request.

Restaurants & bars

The hotel's restaurants and bars are spread from the basement levels up to the 21st floor:

  • Silks House — refined Cantonese cooking, from classic dim sum to roast meats and seafood, behind calligraphy-etched glass screens
  • Lan Ting — Shanghainese cuisine on the 21st floor, with views over Zhongshan and private dining rooms
  • Mihan Honke — Japanese hot pot: shabu-shabu, sukiyaki and other nabe dishes served in private booths
  • Robin's Grill — steakhouse with charcoal-grilled beef, seafood and a salad bar
  • Robin's Teppanyaki — French-inflected teppanyaki, with wines chosen for each course
  • Brasserie — international buffet for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner
  • azie — contemporary Asian and Western dishes in the atrium, with a grand piano and live music in the evenings
  • Gallery — lounge bar for cocktails, coffee and light dishes, with brunch at weekends
Swimming

The heated rooftop pool on the 20th floor is open from 07:00 to 22:00 and looks out over the city. Children under 140 cm swim only with an adult.
