General information
The Okura Prestige Taipei is the Japanese Okura group’s hotel in Taipei, set in the business and shopping quarter of Zhongshan district. European classical motifs and crystal chandeliers dress the lobby, yet the mood is quiet and composed, carried by a Japanese sense of restraint, natural materials and harmony. The brand frames its hospitality around Japanese service and three pillars: accommodation, cuisine and service.
Rooms fill floors 6 to 19, with 3-metre ceilings, wooden floors and sliding partitions that separate the bedroom from the bathing area. Dining is the hotel’s strong suit: the Japanese Yamazato and Chinese Toh Ka Lin both trace back to Hotel Okura Tokyo, joined by a buffet restaurant, a lounge bar and an in-house bakery. A heated outdoor pool sits on the roof, a gym, thermal area and aromatherapy treatments occupy the 20th floor, and a ballroom fills the third. The whole hotel is non-smoking.
Location
The hotel stands on Nanjing East Road in Zhongshan district, in a lively quarter of office towers, international boutiques and restaurants, close to tree-lined Zhongshan North Road. Zhongshan MRT station is a 5–10 minute walk and Taipei Main Station about 8 minutes by car. Songshan Airport is around 15 minutes by car, or by the brown MRT line with a change to the green line at Nanjing Fuxing; Taoyuan International Airport is about 40 minutes by car, or by the Airport MRT to Taipei Main Station and the green line to Zhongshan. Guests arriving by car can use the underground car park.
Spa
On the 20th floor, aromatherapists offer treatments ranging from delicate facials to full-body aromatherapy massage. Next door, a thermal area with separate sections for men and women has hot and cold pools (used without swimwear), a steam room, a dry sauna, a powder room and a rest area; it is open to guests aged 16 and over.
Sports & leisure
The 20th-floor gym has cardio and strength zones equipped by Technogym, plus Kinesis training stations, and is open to guests aged 16 and over. For swimming and sunbathing there is the heated rooftop pool with its sun deck. The hotel can arrange city sightseeing tours and chauffeured car hire, and the business centre on the ground floor offers workspace and meeting space by appointment.
Restaurants & bars
Three restaurants, a lounge bar, a pool bar and a bakery; the restaurants also cook for in-room dining:
- Yamazato — Japanese restaurant on the fifth floor, originating from Hotel Okura Tokyo: a washoku dining room, separate sushi, tempura and teppanyaki counters, and private rooms
- Toh Ka Lin — Cantonese and classic Chinese cuisine on the third floor, also from Hotel Okura Tokyo, with private dining rooms
- Continental Room — second-floor buffet of European and Asian dishes with monthly themed menus, serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner
- The Pearl — lounge bar in the lobby for unhurried meetings
- The Nine — lobby bakery and patisserie with fresh bread, cakes, pineapple cakes and nougat
- Aqua Bar — rooftop poolside bar with light bites and drinks
Swimming
The heated outdoor pool is on the roof, on the 21st floor, with a sun deck and Aqua Bar alongside. Swimsuits and caps are required, and children under 120 cm must be accompanied by an adult.
Rooms
Rooms and suites occupy floors 6 to 19, from the 44 m² Prestige Room to the 228 m² Royal Suite. All share 3-metre ceilings, wooden floors and sliding partitions between bedroom, bathing area and powder room, and every room has a bathtub.
Each room has a marble bathroom with bathtub and rain shower, a multifunction toilet, a Nespresso machine, kettle, minibar, complimentary bottled water, a 40-inch TV with satellite channels, a desk with power points, Wi-Fi, a safe, individual air conditioning, an air purifier, hypoallergenic pillows on request, bathroom scales, a hairdryer, bathrobes and yukata.
Prestige Room
A city-view room on floors 6–14 with a 3-metre ceiling and sliding partitions dividing bedroom, bath and powder area. King bed or two single beds; up to two guests.
Prestige Room (Balcony)
A Prestige room on floors 7–14 with its own balcony and city views. King bed or two single beds; up to two guests.
Okura Prestige Room
A room on floors 15–19 with sweeping Taipei views, its bath, shower and toilet set apart from one another. King bed or two single beds; up to two guests.
Premium Prestige Room
A larger city-view room on floors 16–19 with an open layout divided by sliding partitions. King bed or two single beds; up to two guests.
Executive Room (Balcony)
A room with a separate living area and a balcony on floors 7–14, facing north over the city. King bed; up to two guests.
Executive Room
A room with a separate living area and no balcony on floors 15–19, with city views. King bed; up to two guests.
Junior Suite
An open-plan suite with a living area and floor-to-ceiling windows on floors 15–19, facing south over the city. Two single beds; up to two guests.
The Suite
A sixth-floor suite with separate living room and bedroom; the bathroom has a Jacuzzi, twin basins, a sauna and a steam shower. King bed; up to two guests.
Royal Suite
A garden-themed suite on the 15th floor with bedroom, living room, dining room, pantry and a landscaped balcony garden overlooking the city; the bathroom has a freestanding tub and a sauna, and an hour in a meeting room is included daily. Two single beds; up to two guests.
