General information
Crowne Plaza Tainan sits in Anping, the seaside district of Tainan, where wetlands spread around the mouth of the Yanshui River and Taijiang National Park begins close by. The fifteen-storey hotel has 231 rooms and suites and pairs contemporary architecture with local references: a fisherman’s basket stands at the lobby entrance, and every room door carries a sword lion, one of Anping’s symbols.
The hotel serves leisure and business travellers in equal measure, with a club lounge, a business centre and rooms for conferences and weddings. Dining is gathered on the two lowest levels — a buffet restaurant, Japanese teppanyaki, a Cantonese dining room and a lobby bar — while the health club with its indoor pool occupies levels 3 and 5. Among the rooms are Japanese-style ones with tatami floors.
Location
The hotel stands on Zhouping Road in Anping, looking over the Yanshui River estuary and Anping Harbour. The lakeside waterfowl park is 750 m away along a cycle path, Taijiang National Park about 5 minutes by car, the Sicao mangrove “green tunnel” 4.2 km, the old Anping fort 1.5 km and Anping Old Street 1.8 km. Tainan Airport is 12.5 km away and Kaohsiung International Airport 65 km, both reached by taxi. From Tainan high-speed rail station, a local train runs to Tainan railway station, followed by a taxi or city buses no. 98 and 102; on selected public holidays the hotel runs one free shuttle a day, with seats to be booked at least three days ahead.
Sports & leisure
The health club on levels 3 and 5 is open from 6 am to 11 pm, with a gym equipped with treadmills, exercise bikes, stair steppers and free weights, an indoor pool, and separate saunas for men and women. A cycle path runs past the hotel towards the waterfowl park and on through Anping, and the hotel works with several golf clubs around Tainan, including an 18-hole course. The concierge desk is staffed around the clock.

The health club includes a kids’ club and a children’s splash pool.
Restaurants & bars
There are three restaurants and a lobby bar, and room service runs from 5.30 am to 1 am.

- Ren · Kawara — lobby-level Japanese restaurant with teppanyaki cooked in front of guests, sushi and sake
- Cai Feng Lou — Cantonese cooking with local produce on level 2: dim sum, Cantonese roast duck and suckling pig (both ordered in advance) and eight private dining rooms
- 289 Bar — lobby bar with a patio: afternoon tea by reservation, a deli counter of cakes and pastries, and evening drinks
Swimming
The heated indoor pool (27–28 °C), 20 m long with three lanes, is on level 5, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the coast. There is a whirlpool, changing rooms with lockers and a lifeguard on duty; children under 12 swim only with an adult. The hotel has no beach of its own, but Anping’s beach nearby is the place for the sunset.
Pets
Pets are not accepted, except guide dogs; animals may be kept temporarily in a pet cage at the security office.
Rooms
The 231 rooms and suites, from 40 to 182 m², have large windows facing the wetlands at the mouth of the Yanshui River or old Anping and its harbour. Suites have a living room and a separate bedroom, some rooms have balconies, and the Premium rooms are Japanese-style with tatami floors.
Every room has a Slumberland bed with a pillow choice, individually controlled air conditioning, a 50-inch TV, a work desk, Wi-Fi, a safe, a bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower, a smart toilet, Borghese toiletries, bathrobes and a hair dryer; suites add a Dyson hair dryer and a capsule coffee machine.
Standard
Room with large windows over Anping Harbour, with a 200 × 200 cm king bed, two 110 × 200 cm single beds or two 150 × 200 cm double beds. The two-double version sleeps up to four, the others two; no extra beds.
Standard Balcony
Room with a balcony and a 200 × 200 cm king bed, two 110 × 200 cm single beds or two 135 cm-wide beds. The king and single-bed versions take an extra bed for a third guest on request.
Standard River View Balcony
