About this hotel
General information
Hostellerie du Pas de l’Ours is an intimate hotel in Crans-Montana, surrounded by mountain peaks and ski runs. Behind a façade of old timber and natural stone lie a warm atmosphere, refined style and modern comfort. There are just 12 rooms, each with its own Alpine interior, a fireplace and a balcony looking out over the mountains.
The Spa l’Alpage focuses on rest and recovery, and there are indoor and outdoor pools and a large sun terrace. The pride of the house is its gastronomic restaurant; a bistro serves local dishes, and the bar, with its fireplace and seventeenth-century stonework, is the natural place to gather after a day on the slopes. Meeting rooms hold up to 100 people, and the hotel hosts weddings and offers special programmes for honeymooners.
Location
The hotel is in the ski resort of Crans-Montana at 1,500 m, 180 km from Geneva International Airport.
Spa
Spa l’Alpage has a sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, mud bath, gym, relaxation area, beauty salon and treatment rooms. The menu includes a range of massages, hot stones among them, mud therapy, aromatherapy, reflexology, hydrotherapy, body wraps and beauty treatments.
Sports & leisure
An indoor pool is open in winter and an outdoor pool with a sun terrace in summer. The resort offers downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, curling, skating, mountaineering, mountain biking, horse riding, hiking and excursions. Tennis courts and an ice rink are close by, and a scenic nine-hole golf course lies 1 km away.

Restaurants & bars
Three settings range from chef-driven cuisine to fireside evenings, and the restaurants also host gala dinners.
- L’Ours — gastronomic restaurant led by chef Franck Reynaud: seasonal produce, seafood and meat, house-made foie gras, truffle soup and desserts
- Bistro des Ours — traditional local cooking in a wood-panelled room with a large open fireplace
- Lobby bar — a grand fireplace, vaulted ceilings and massive seventeenth-century stonework

The hotel stands close to the lifts, among the ski runs of Crans-Montana.

The fifteen rooms and suites are designed in a contemporary Alpine style with natural wood and stone; most have a fireplace, a whirlpool bath and a terrace with views of the Alps.

Cosy Classic Room
A cosy north-facing room in traditional style, with wood and bright colours: a 200 × 200 cm bed, shower, separate WC and work area; no mountain view. For one or two guests.

A bedroom with a 200 × 200 cm bed and an open sitting area around the fireplace, a whirlpool bath and a south-facing terrace with views of the Alps. For two guests.
Open Suite
A suite in warm tones with a natural-stone fireplace and wood finishes, a whirlpool bath and a south-facing terrace with Alpine views. For two guests.
Loft Suite
A suite with fur textiles and warm woods, a fireplace, whirlpool bath and a south-facing terrace with Alpine views. For two or three guests.
Family Suite “Le Sommet”
A top-floor penthouse with a south-facing terrace overlooking the Valais Alps: a separate master bedroom, sitting area, a mezzanine arranged to guests’ needs, a whirlpool bath and walk-in shower. Up to four guests.
Suite “Ours Blanc”
A suite with a fireplace, whirlpool bath and a south-facing terrace with views of the Alps; 200 × 200 cm bed. For two guests.
Communicating Polar Suite
A family combination of a master suite and a connecting double bedroom: two king-size beds, a living room with fireplace, a bathroom with whirlpool bath, a shower room and a terrace with mountain views. Up to four guests.
Chalet Suite
A suite finished entirely in wood, with a fireplace, whirlpool bath and a south-facing terrace with Alpine views; 200 × 200 cm bed. For a couple.
Bear Suite
An apartment finished in old wood, with three double beds, a whirlpool bath and a south-facing terrace with mountain views; no fireplace. Up to six guests.
