About this hotel
General information
Grand Hotel Kronenhof rises in the very heart of Pontresina, on a mountain terrace ringed by Alpine slopes. Opened in 1848, it is listed as a historic monument of the region and counted among the finest hotels in Switzerland. Neo-Baroque interiors pair the charm of the past with the highest standards of modern service, and the rooms look out to the peaks around St. Moritz and the Roseg Glacier.
The hotel has the Michelin-starred Kronenstübli, a Grand Restaurant with a historic dining room, a piano bar, a 2,000 m² spa with pools and a gym, an ice rink, a bowling alley and a kids’ club. Nine conference rooms hold 6–270 people, alongside a business centre, and weddings are arranged. For dinner in the restaurants, men are expected to wear a jacket or a dark suit.
Location
In the centre of the Pontresina ski resort at 1,800 m, 6 km from St. Moritz and a 15-minute walk from the railway station. Milan is 175 km away and Zurich 200 km; a free shuttle runs to the station and to Samedan airport.
Spa
Kronenhof Spa covers 2,000 m², with a 20 × 8 m indoor pool with counter-current, a children’s pool, whirlpool, a floating grotto with underwater music, Finnish sauna and bio-sauna, a steam room set in a stone grotto, a salt grotto, a Kneipp bath, a relaxation room with fireplace and a solarium. There is also a gym with personal training, a yoga and Pilates studio, a hair salon and 13 treatment rooms including a spa suite, using Carita, Decléor and Alpienne products.
Sports & leisure
The hotel has its own ice rink and bowling alley. Winter brings downhill and cross-country skiing and snowboarding, summer mountaineering, golf, mountain biking and Nordic walking, with yoga and Pilates all year round.

The Krönchen club welcomes children from age 3 in three sections, including a teen zone with board games and video games. Younger guests also have a children’s pool with water slides and their own restaurant, Rondelle; babysitting is available on request.
