About this hotel
General information
A Belle Époque palace that opened in 1906, Fairmont Le Montreux Palace stands in the heart of Montreux on the shore of Lake Geneva. Over the past century it has welcomed European royalty and aristocracy, scientists, artists, statesmen and athletes; Sarah Bernhardt and Richard Strauss were regulars, and Vladimir Nabokov lived here for sixteen years. As in its early days, a park of fountains, lawns and winding paths spreads before the façade, while a promenade of flowerbeds and palms runs along the lake.
Inside, careful lighting, a palette of red, blue and pale yellow and antique details keep the spirit of the early twentieth century alive alongside modern comfort. The windows frame the deep blue lake, the Alpine peaks and the Château de Chillon celebrated by Byron. The hotel has been recognised by Condé Nast Traveller, Travel + Leisure and Bilanz. Twelve event rooms hold up to 1,200 guests, with a business centre, shops and parking.
