General information
SHA Spain spreads across a hillside above the Mediterranean near El Albir on the Costa Blanca: white buildings looking out to the mountains and the bay, with terraces and Zen-style gardens. It is less a resort than a centre of integrative medicine, where a medical team, a hydrotherapy circuit, a largely plant-based kitchen and daily movement and relaxation sessions share one setting.
Stays are booked together with a health programme: every first visit includes one, and the suite or residence is added to it. The shortest programmes at SHA Spain run from four nights. Each opens with a medical assessment, after which the team draws up a personal plan of diagnostics, consultations, nutrition, natural therapies and exercise. Guests must be at least 12, quiet is part of the house rules in shared areas, and smoking is not allowed anywhere on site.
Location
The complex lies on the Costa Blanca in L’Alfàs del Pi, by the resort town of El Albir at the foot of the Sierra Helada. Alicante airport is 60 km away and Valencia airport 130 km; exit 65 of the AP-7 motorway is about 10 minutes by road. Private transfers by car, van or helicopter can be arranged.
Spa
SHA’s wellness centre combines a clinic with a spa. The hydrotherapy circuit is built around contrast therapy, with indoor spa pools, a pool with hydromassage beds, sauna, Roman steam room, hammam, pebble walk, jet showers and relaxation areas around a Zen garden. Medical units cover preventive medicine and healthy ageing, genomic, revitalising and regenerative medicine, dermatology and aesthetics, cognitive stimulation, psychology, dental health and physiotherapy; natural therapies include acupuncture, osteopathy, shiatsu and reflexology.
Sports & leisure
A large outdoor pool with sea views is ringed by terraces with shaded day beds. There is a fitness area, a tennis court and a meditation room, with yoga, tai chi and aerobics classes, while the Healthy Living Academy runs cooking classes and talks on healthy living. Excursions and boat trips can be arranged.
For children
Guests must be at least 12 years old. Younger children are admitted only in exceptional cases and must stay with their parents at all times; the clinic, hydrotherapy circuit, SHAmadi restaurant, fitness area, pools and terraces are closed to them.
Restaurants & bars
Food is part of each programme: menus follow the seasons and mostly organic produce, and a nutritionist sets each guest’s plan.

Swimming
The nearest beach is El Albir on the Bay of Altea, about a kilometre from the complex.
Pets
Pets up to 5 kg are welcome for a daily fee but may not enter the clinic, hydrotherapy circuit, restaurant, fitness area, pools, terraces or lifts. The residences and Villa Alma are set up for stays with pets.
Rooms
Guests choose between suites in seven categories, eleven residences of three types with their own entrances, and Villa Alma. Interiors in natural materials are designed for deep rest and sleep, and most look out to the sea or the mountains.
Every suite has a terrace, a dressing area, a safe, a smart TV, free Wi-Fi, bathrobes and slippers, with a choice of mattresses and pillows.
Deluxe Suite Restyled
A redesigned open-plan suite with a combined bedroom and living area, dressing area, shower room and a spacious terrace facing the mountains or the sea, some with a hydromassage tub. For two guests.
Deluxe Suite
An open-plan suite in the earlier décor: bedroom and living area in one, dressing area, shower room and a private terrace facing the mountains or the sea. For two guests.
Superior Suite
A separate bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with bathtub, an extra shower room, a dressing area and a large terrace with sea or mountain views. For two guests.
Grand Suite
A separate bedroom, a living-dining room with kitchen (in-suite cooking on request), two bathrooms, a dressing area and a spacious terrace facing the mountains or the sea.
Presidential Suite
Two bedrooms, the master with a bath and shower, a living-dining room and a large terrace with a hydromassage tub and sea views; bookable in its original or Restyled finish. Sleeps four, with a personal assistant eight hours a day on stays of seven nights or more.
Royal Suite
A duplex with two bedrooms, the master with a large dressing area and whirlpool bath, a kitchen, a large living-dining room and a 180° terrace. The rooftop adds a lounge with fireplace and billiards, a heated pool and barbecue with 360° views; a personal assistant and VIP transfer from Alicante or Valencia are included.
Premier Residence
A single-floor residence with two bedrooms, a living-dining room and a terrace over an infinity lap pool, facing the mountains; some add a private garden, terrace hot tub and barbecue bar. Private entrance and parking; pets allowed.
Garden Residence
A duplex residence with two or three bedrooms, a garden, two terraces and a private pool; the master bedroom opens onto a courtyard with a waterfall. An extra room serves as a suite, a cinema or a wellness area with sauna; children and pets allowed.
Penthouse Residence
A duplex residence with two or three bedrooms, terraces on both floors, an infinity lap pool, an outdoor hot tub and a wellness area with a treatment room and sauna. The rooftop has 360° views.
Villa Alma
A three-floor villa with five bedrooms, each with a dressing room and bathroom, a private spa (sauna, steam bath, indoor pool with hydromassage and a counter-current lane), a massage room and a Technogym gym. Garden, a 22 m² pool with hot tub, barbecue, lift and round-the-clock personal service; views of the mountains and the bay.
