General information
Royal River Luxury Hotel is an adults-only resort of 50 villas in Costa Adeje, on the south-west coast of Tenerife. It sits among tropical planting opposite the Golf Costa Adeje course, with the mountains behind and the Atlantic in front, and is laid out not as a single building but as a small settlement of gardens and water in which every villa has its own pool or plunge pool.
Four main villa types share the grounds: River Villas linked by an 80-metre river-style pool, thatched Lagoon Villas standing over a lagoon, Pool Villas with generous terraces and Grand Pool Villas facing the golf course, joined by the larger Paradise Villa and Sky Villa. Above it all, a roof terrace with an infinity pool looks out over the ocean. The hotel is classified five-star Gran Lujo and accepts guests aged 14 and over.
Location
The hotel stands on Calle Alcojora in Costa Adeje, in the municipality of Adeje, opposite the Golf Costa Adeje course and between the mountains and the Atlantic. Tenerife South Airport is about 20 minutes away and the beaches of the coast are under ten minutes by car. Airport transfers can be arranged at a charge, and guest parking is free.
Spa
Serenity Spa works with Alqvimia products. Its facilities include an indoor spa pool with waterfalls, a jacuzzi, water beds, a steam room and an ice fountain, along with a massage room with two beds for couples. Every treatment opens with a lavender foot bath, a warm eye mask and a gentle head massage; the menu covers massages, including hot volcanic stones, facials and rituals such as Queen of Egypt and the couples' Romantic Escape. Treatments are charged separately.
Sports & leisure
- A fitness room and a croquet lawn.
- The 18-hole Golf Costa Adeje course lies opposite the hotel; tee times can be booked through the hotel at a charge.
- Royal Boat — three-hour sailing trips from Puerto Colón out to deeper water, where whales, dolphins and sea turtles may be seen, with a stop at anchor off a beach for a swim, plus seven-hour big-game fishing trips.
- Sommelier-led tastings of Canarian and Spanish wines, private sessions included.
- Hiking and sightseeing trips to Teide National Park, the Anaga mountains and Masca.
Restaurants & bars
Dining moves between several settings, from the rooftop to the villa terrace:
- The Top Brasserie — refined cooking on the rooftop with panoramic ocean views
- Pineapple Restaurant — breakfast, al fresco lunch and dinner in a cosmopolitan setting
- Pineapple Terrace — a weekly Deluxe BBQ evening of grilled specialities outdoors around the main pool
- Flamingo Restaurant — an Italian tasting menu one evening a week, in an interior of pink and turquoise tones
There is also a champagne bar and two further bars, including a pool bar. The signature Pool Brunch is served on a floating tray in the villa's own pool, and in-villa dining is available at a charge.
Swimming
Every villa has its own pool or plunge pool. The River Villas open onto an 80-metre river-style pool winding through the greenery, the Lagoon Villas give straight onto the lagoon, and the roof terrace has an infinity pool facing the Atlantic. The main pool is framed by Pineapple Terrace; the beaches of the coast are under ten minutes away by car.
Pets
Pets are not accepted; assistance animals are the exception.
Rooms
The 50 villas have one to four bedrooms and range from 60 to 360 m²; each has a private pool, a sun terrace with hammocks and a cocoon daybed.
King-size beds, a bathroom with bathtub and shower, bathrobes and slippers, a wine cabinet, minibar, plasma TV, telephone, safe, free Wi-Fi, a terrace with hammocks and a private pool; room service and butler service are available at a charge.

Two king-size bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a large terrace over the lagoon, a sundeck with a cocoon bed and direct access to the lagoon. Sleeps four.
1 Bedroom River Villa Roof Terrace
A two-level villa with a king-size bedroom, a bathroom with bath and shower, a roof terrace and a private pool that opens onto the river-style pool. Sleeps two.
1 Bedroom River Villa Roof Terrace with Sea View
The same two-level River Villa layout, with a roof terrace that looks out to sea and a private pool connected to the river-style pool. Sleeps two.
1 Bedroom Pool Villa
A secluded villa with a king-size bedroom, a bathroom with bath and shower, a sundeck with a cocoon bed and a private pool. Sleeps two.
1 Bedroom Grand Pool Villa
A villa facing the golf course, with a king-size bedroom, a bathroom with bath and shower, a large terrace with hammocks and a private outdoor pool. Sleeps two.
2 Bedroom River Villa
Two king-size bedrooms and two bathrooms over two levels, a terrace with a cocoon bed and a private pool with access to the river-style pool. Sleeps four.
2 Bedroom Grand Pool Villa
Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, golf-course views, a large terrace and a private outdoor pool. Sleeps four.
3 Bedroom Grand Pool Villa
A duplex villa with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, golf-course views, a large terrace and a private outdoor pool. Sleeps up to seven.
3 Bedroom Paradise Pool Villa
Three bedrooms and three bathrooms, a spacious terrace over the golf course, a large private pool and a freestanding open-air bathtub among banana plants. Sleeps up to seven.
4 Bedroom Sky Villa Sea View
Four bedrooms with four bathrooms, views of the sea, the golf course and the mountains, a solarium with a cocoon bed and a private outdoor pool. Sleeps up to eight.
