General information
JOIA Salomé by Iberostar is a small five-star boutique hotel for adults only, set on the Atlantic shore of Costa Adeje in south-west Tenerife. It occupies a secluded corner of a larger resort, with two pools of its own looking out to the ocean and its own breakfast terrace, while guests are free to use the gardens, restaurants, bars and spa of the wider estate.
Every room is a sea-view suite, and every suite comes with butler service. The butlers take requests at any hour, from planning days out on the island and handling luggage to bringing newspapers, securing restaurant tables and suggesting what to see. The hotel runs on renewable electricity, without single-use plastics, with purified-water fountains and responsibly sourced fish and seafood, and the Iberostar Aliveness programme ties together movement, rest and thoughtfully prepared food.
Location
The hotel stands on Calle Londres in Costa Adeje, on Tenerife’s southern coast, a few metres from a sandy beach. Suites on the upper floors look over Fañabé beach, and the breakfast terrace faces across the water to the neighbouring island of La Gomera.
Spa
SPA Sensations covers 1,000 m² and offers more than 23 treatments and rituals, among them aromatherapy, an oriental massage drawing on Chinese and Thai traditions and the Wine Sensations wine bath. Its Hydrowellness circuit brings together a thermal area, a Finnish sauna, a cold plunge, a pool kept at 34 °C, sensation showers, waterfalls and water jets, an active pool and a relaxation room with fresh fruit, water and tea. There is also a beauty salon.
Sports & leisure
Guests have two gyms with views to the outside, yoga, Pilates and aerobics classes and pool games run under the Iberostar Aliveness programme, along with tennis and padel courts, table tennis, darts and water sports. A personal trainer tailors sessions to each guest’s level and goals, mixing yoga, Pilates, strength, cardio and outdoor training with attention to breathing and posture; sessions are booked through the butler. Seven golf courses lie around the hotel.
Restaurants & bars
Breakfast is served on the hotel’s own terrace, while lunch and dinner can be taken across the wider resort’s seven restaurants and three bars; in-suite dining runs around the clock.
- Mirador Terrace — breakfast with views to La Gomera: fresh juices, chia shakes, pan de cristal with Iberian ham and grated tomato, French pastries
- Lagarto — à la carte with sea views, for lunch by the water, a sunset aperitif or an evening drink
- Poseidón — gourmet à la carte built on local produce and modern techniques; formal dress at dinner
- Portofino — Italian: focaccia, bruschetta, mozzarella, fresh pasta, meat and fish, oven-baked pizza, with live cooking in the evening
- Sea Soul Restaurant & Lounge — lunch and dinner facing the sea: starters, pasta, meat and responsibly sourced fish and seafood, with wine and cocktails at sunset and live music
- Zeus — buffet restaurant for breakfast and evening show cooking, with six international buffet stations, homemade desserts and a chocolate fountain
- Portofino Lunch — Canarian dishes for lunch and snacks, including potatoes with red and green mojo
- Barito Pool Bar — snacks beside the heated pools
- Hall Bar — lobby bar with cocktails and live music in the evening
- Zumería Pool Snack Bar — local and international drinks and snacks beside a saltwater pool
Swimming
The hotel has two heated outdoor pools, both overlooking the ocean, and a sun terrace set with loungers. A sandy beach lies a few metres away, where loungers can be hired.
Rooms
The hotel is made up entirely of sea-view suites in four categories of 60–75 m², each with a terrace or balcony and butler service, and each for two adults.
Each suite has a living room, a 2 × 2 m king-size bed or twin beds, a pillow menu, evening turndown, a whirlpool bath, bathrobes and slippers, a hairdryer, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a minibar, premium drinks, unlimited purified water and 24-hour room service.
Suite Sea View
A suite on the second or third floor with a living room, a whirlpool bath and a terrace with a sun lounger facing the sea; for two adults.
Sea-View Terrace Suite
A ground-floor suite with a private sun terrace opening straight onto the pool and gardens, sea views and a whirlpool bath; for two adults.
Priority Location Suite Sea View
A suite on the upper floors with a terrace and panoramic views over Fañabé beach; for two adults.
Superior Suite Sea View
The hotel’s largest suite, with a balcony or terrace: on the upper floors it has panoramic Atlantic views, on the lowest floor it opens onto the pool and still looks out to sea; for two adults.
