Puente Romano Marbella

About this hotel

General information

Puente Romano Marbella sits on the Mediterranean at the heart of the Golden Mile, laid out as a reimagined Andalusian village. Small whitewashed houses, each named after a local town, are scattered through subtropical botanical gardens holding more than 400 plant species from several continents. Some suites stand close to the beach, others are tucked into the greenery; interiors keep to pale sandy tones, cool Egyptian marble and understated furniture.

The resort is best known for its dining quarter: more than twenty restaurants and bars gathered around La Plaza and along the seafront, from Nobu, COYA and Cipriani to the beachside Chiringuito. Its tennis club, with clay and padel courts, hosts international tournaments. Six Senses Spa, the La Casita kids' club and an evening scene of DJs and live music complete the picture. The resort is open all year.

Location

The resort lies in Marbella on the Costa del Sol, on the Golden Mile seafront with its own access to the sea. The international airports of Málaga and Gibraltar are both within an hour's drive. Private transfers from Málaga airport are available to all guests on request at the time of booking; taxis also wait at the airport.

Spa

Six Senses Spa draws on local architecture and craftsmanship. The ground floor holds a hydrotherapy pool, a cold plunge pool, experience showers with varied water flows and lighting, a herbal steam room, sauna, hammam and six treatment rooms, plus a relaxation lounge with a nail bar looking over the sea; three more treatment rooms upstairs face the water. Treatments use rosemary, lemon and lavender from the gardens, olive oils and herbs from the nearby mountains and local sea salt, with face and body work based on Subtle Energies and Swissline. Visiting practitioners include Chinese medicine and Ayurvedic doctors and osteopaths. The separate Health & Fitness Centre has Technogym equipment, a spinning, barre and boxing studio, sauna and steam room and an open-air gym, and there is a Pilates studio with reformer machines.

Sports & leisure

Puente Romano Tennis Club is affiliated with the Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) and hosts international tournaments: eight floodlit clay courts and a Plexipave court, eight floodlit glass padel courts and a 2,500-seat centre court. The club adds a Technogym gym, massage rooms, sauna and Turkish bath, the Lagom! Café and a pro shop, with coaching for every level in private or group lessons. Complimentary sessions for guests include Fit Combat, yoga and padel mix-ins. Beyond the courts there are water sports from banana boats to pedalos, outings on the resort's crewed sailing yacht Revolution, Dutch-style bikes, and more than a hundred concierge-arranged experiences such as canyoning, mountain buggy safaris, cooking classes, olive oil tastings at an estate near Ronda and golf on Marbella's courses. Sommeliers lead tastings in the La Bodega cellar; boutiques, a work space and a ballroom complete the facilities.

For children

La Casita Kids Club occupies its own garden villa, with a heated pool and swimming lessons, a treehouse, tennis, pizza-making, craft workshops, escape rooms, treasure hunts, magic shows and films after lunch. Trained, certified team leaders stay with the children throughout; the programme runs all year and changes with the seasons, and some activities need booking ahead. Children under 4 must come with a nanny or caregiver, and professional childminding can be arranged. Teenagers aged 13–18 have the Teen Spirit lounge with pool, chess, backgammon and table football, while the tennis club runs camps for ages 4–14. Private tuition with international school teachers can be organised, and families can book guaranteed interconnecting suites with welcome gifts for children.
