About this hotel
General information
Hotel Alfonso XIII is a Neo-Mudéjar palace raised for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition to host visiting dignitaries, and it carries the name of King Alfonso XIII. Its design was chosen through a competition won by the Sevillian architect José Espiau y Muñoz. Built of brick, plaster, timber and ceramic, the building is lavishly worked, with recessed ceramic friezes and Moorish detailing that echo the pavilions of Plaza de España, put up for the same exposition.
Part of The Luxury Collection, the hotel sits in the very centre of Seville beside the Real Alcázar and the cathedral. Its heart is still the colonnaded inner courtyard, where Restaurante San Fernando serves, with gardens and an outdoor pool beyond. The interiors, from the lobby to the patio, are shaped by Andalusian craft, the concierges belong to Les Clefs d'Or, and nine function rooms, the Salón Real among them, host weddings and banquets of up to 350 guests.
Location
The hotel stands at San Fernando 2 in Seville's old town, on the edge of the Santa Cruz quarter and a few steps from the Real Alcázar and the cathedral with its Giralda. Plaza de España, the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts are close by, and the concierge can arrange a trip to the Roman ruins of Italica. Puerta Jerez is the nearest metro stop and Santa Justa railway station serves the city. Seville Airport is about 12 km away; there is no hotel shuttle, transfers can be arranged on request, and on-site parking includes electric-car charging.
Spa
Serenity Retreat is an intimate wellness centre offering tailored treatments, from soothing massages to sensory rituals for body and mind, in a calm and elegant setting. Bookings go through the concierge, who can also arrange massages in the room.
Sports & leisure
- A fitness centre, free for guests, with treadmills, elliptical trainers, exercise bikes, rowing machines, weight machines and free weights

For children
The hotel's site lists no kids' club. A cot can be added in the Grand Deluxe Room, the Junior Suite and all the suites (no cot linen is supplied, for safety reasons), and some rooms connect.
Restaurants & bars
Dining revolves around the patio and the terrace:
- Restaurante San Fernando — Spanish classics with a modern touch and a long wine list beneath the courtyard colonnades; breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch
- Ena Sevilla — tapas, local wines and classic or signature cocktails on an open-air terrace overlooking the city centre
- Bar Americano — an Art Deco bar for an aperitif before dinner and an extensive list of signature cocktails, open late into the night
In-room dining runs around the clock.
Swimming
The outdoor pool lies within the hotel's gardens, a quiet place to cool off under the Andalusian sun, open to hotel guests only.
Pets
Pets are not allowed at the hotel.
