About this hotel
General information
The Shilla Seoul is the flagship of The Shilla Hotels & Resorts, set on the green slopes of Namsan. Korean aesthetic heritage meets quiet contemporary luxury here, with fine dining, art, wellness and boutiques gathered under one roof and windows that look out over the mountain or the city. The hotel is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
The main building holds 464 rooms, 38 of them suites. The 23rd floor is home to The Executive Lounge and two restaurants with views across Seoul; the third floor brings together indoor and outdoor pools, the gym, an indoor golf range and the Clé de Peau Beauté Spa. The separate Yeong Bin Gwan building next door houses banquet halls, and running routes lead from the main entrance up through the woods to the promenade road on Namsan’s northern flank.
Location
The hotel sits in Seoul’s Jung-gu district, on the slopes of Namsan in Jangchung-dong (249 Dongho-ro). The nearest subway stop is Dongguk University Station on Line 3 (Exit 5). Incheon International Airport is about 1 hour 30 minutes away by taxi, or roughly two hours by the 6702 airport bus or the subway; Gimpo Airport is about an hour by taxi. A hotel shuttle runs daily to Myeong-dong and Dongdaemun, and parking is complimentary for the length of a stay.
Spa
The Clé de Peau Beauté Spa on the third floor offers the skincare brand’s treatments, each beginning with a detailed skin consultation and tailored to the guest. Afterwards there is the Resting Lounge, with the spa’s own signature tea and views of Namsan. A separate sauna adds private shower booths, scrub rooms and baths at different temperatures.
Sports & leisure
Active time at the hotel centres on the third floor and the mountain behind it:
- a gym with up-to-date equipment and group classes, from hatha, vinyasa and flow yoga to core, stretch and dance sessions
- a 25-metre indoor pool under a glass dome with Namsan views, plus a dry sauna and indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis
- Urban Island, a seasonal heated outdoor pool with a Jacuzzi, private cabanas and a rooftop terrace
- an indoor golf range with TrackMan in every bay and automatic tee-up, offering swing analysis, technique coaching and club fitting, with a putting green outdoors
- two running routes of 4.12 km and 4.6 km from the main entrance to the promenade road on Namsan’s northern flank, one passing the National Theater of Korea and Namsan Park
For children
The Kids’ Lounge on the fifth floor is a free play space for guests travelling with young children, who play there together with an adult. Urban Island, the outdoor pool, also has a separate children’s pool.

Urban Island, the outdoor pool on the third floor, runs from about late March to mid-November, with a heated main pool, a children’s pool, a Jacuzzi, private cabanas (some with access to their own plunge pool) and a rooftop terrace facing Namsan. Both are reserved for hotel guests and Fitness Club members.
