Grand Josun Busan

About this hotel

General information

Grand Josun Busan is a 16-storey Josun Hotels & Resorts property in the middle of Haeundae, facing the best-known city beach in Busan. A white-toned lobby sets a calm, contemporary mood for the whole building, and most rooms look out over the sea or the lights of Haeundae. It suits travellers who want beach and city in equal measure: the sand is a few steps away, the metro a ten-minute walk.

There are 330 rooms and suites, including a whole floor of themed kids' rooms and the Josun Junior programme for younger guests. The highlights are the Heavenly Pool, with indoor and outdoor sections above the sea, a sauna with panoramic windows, Sundari Spa, and two restaurants: the Aria grill and seafood buffet and Cantonese Palais de Chine. Premier and suite guests have use of the Gran J lounge on the 15th floor.

Location

The hotel stands in Busan's Haeundae district, across the road from Haeundae Beach. Haeundae metro station (Line 2) is roughly a ten-minute walk; from Busan Station, where KTX high-speed trains arrive, the metro gets here with one change. Bus 307 runs from Gimhae International Airport to the Haeundae Beach stop beside the hotel.

Spa

Sundari Spa on the seventh floor is a California-born hotel spa brand whose treatments draw on Ayurvedic principles. On the sixth floor, a sauna with large windows onto the sea and sky has dry and wet saunas, hot and cold baths, private shower booths and a jacuzzi by the indoor pool. Premier and suite guests use the sauna free of charge.

Sports & leisure

The Grand Josun Athletic Club brings together the pools, sauna and gym, all with views along the Busan coast. The gym has more than 35 types of cardio and strength equipment, and trainers offer one-to-one sessions with a personal programme and fitness assessment. Gym and pools are free for all hotel guests. On the fourth floor, the OKNP gallery and the Space Topping art space host exhibitions and design pieces.

For children

The Josun Junior programme looks after younger guests from arrival to departure: activities can be booked before the trip, and on arrival children receive an adventure map, a backpack and a colouring set. The programme includes adventure trails around the hotel, birthday celebrations with a crown, badge and cake, and surprise events. Pool toys and kids' robes are available at the pool, and the restaurants provide children's cutlery and colouring sheets.

Restaurants & bars

Most venues are on the second floor, with the club lounge on the fifteenth:

  • Aria — grill and seafood buffet beneath high ceilings, with a live kitchen and sea views
  • Palais de Chine — modern Cantonese cuisine, with private dining rooms
  • Lounge & Bar Terrace 292 — European brunch by day, signature cocktails and wine at night, with an outdoor terrace
  • Josun Deli — the house bakery for pastries, desserts and sweet gifts
  • Eat2O — poolside café
  • Gran J — club lounge for Premier and suite guests: coffee and cookies by day, champagne and wine in the evening

In-room dining is available around the clock.

Swimming

Haeundae Beach, a sandy city beach, lies directly opposite the hotel; beach towels, robes and sand-play sets can be borrowed from the hotel. The Heavenly Pool on the seventh floor pairs a 17.5-metre outdoor pool looking over the sea with a year-round 18 × 8.3-metre indoor pool, a children's pool and a jacuzzi; poolside cabanas can be booked.

Pets

Pets are generally not allowed; the exceptions are assistance dogs and guests on dedicated pet-friendly stays, who are given designated areas.
