Four Seasons Hotel Seoul

About this hotel

General information

Four Seasons Hotel Seoul occupies a glass tower in Gwanghwamun, where the city’s business district meets its old palace quarters. Its 317 rooms, 32 of them suites, all have floor-to-ceiling windows and white Italian-marble bathrooms, with interiors that set Korean silks, ceramics and nature motifs against clean contemporary lines. More than 160 contemporary artworks hang across the rooms and public spaces.

Dining is the hotel’s strongest suit: eight restaurants and bars cover Cantonese, Italian and Japanese cooking, with the cocktail bars tucked away on the lower level. Three floors are given over to the gym, pools, Korean sauna and spa; Club Room guests use the Executive Club Lounge for evening cocktails and a light supper, and indoor and outdoor spaces host receptions and meetings.

Location

The hotel sits in Jongno, at the very centre of Seoul: Gyeongbokgung Palace is a few blocks away, Bukchon Hanok Village and Cheonggyecheon Stream are within walking distance, and the Myeong-dong shopping district is close by. Gwanghwamun subway station (Line 5) is a three-minute walk and the airport bus stop a minute from the door. Incheon International Airport is 59 km away (about 1 hour 20 minutes by car) and Gimpo Airport 23 km (about an hour); the hotel arranges airport meet-and-greet and limousine transfers.

Spa

The Korean-inspired spa pairs old rituals with modern therapies: facial and body treatments built on native botanicals, seaweed detox treatments, signature massages, a couples’ ritual and a Turkish hammam. The Korean sauna has cold, warm and hot baths, dry and wet sauna rooms and a lounge with beds for an afternoon nap and views over the palace; Korean body scrubs are available for a fee. A Nail Bar and a traditional barbershop complete the floor.

Sports & leisure

The 815 m² gym spreads over three floors and is open around the clock, with cardio and weight machines, a Pilates studio, a group exercise room, a stretching zone, personal trainers and private yoga sessions. On the 10th floor, golf simulators with five 3D screens recreate well-known courses around the world. The concierge arranges walking and themed tours of Seoul, a visit to Changdeokgung Palace and its garden, day trips to Gyeongju and Busan, and cooking classes such as kimchi making.

For children

The Kids For All Seasons Lounge runs themed play sessions and cooking classes in English at weekends and on public holidays, by reservation and for a fee. Younger children have their own plunge pool, and a play tent can be set up in the room on request.

Restaurants & bars

Eight restaurants and bars, plus round-the-clock in-room dining.

  • The Market Kitchen — international buffet with live cooking stations, a seafood station and six private dining rooms
  • Boccalino — Italian cooking from family recipes, pizzas and antipasti in a sunlit room
  • Akira Back — modern Japanese cuisine with Korean accents
  • Yu Yuan — Cantonese and regional Chinese dishes, including Beijing duck, in an old-Shanghai setting
  • Maru — a relaxed living-room lounge serving Korean favourites and international dishes
  • Charles H. — a hidden cocktail bar on the lower level
  • H. Bar — eight seats inside Charles H., serving cocktails as a tasting course with seasonal Korean ingredients
  • Confections by Four Seasons — café and patisserie for pastries, cakes, tea and coffee
Swimming

Three indoor pools sit on the 8th floor: a mosaic-tiled three-lane swimming pool, a heated vitality pool for tired muscles and a children’s plunge pool nearby. They are complimentary for hotel guests, the pool is reserved for adults in the late evening, and swimming lessons with an instructor can be booked.

Pets

One vaccinated pet of up to 10 kg is welcome per room; a consent form must be signed and a pet fee applies. A bed and bowls are provided, pets travel in a carrier or cart outside the room, they are not allowed in the restaurants, spa or pool areas, and the concierge can arrange a pet sitter.

Rooms

The 285 rooms and 32 suites sit between the 11th and 29th floors and rank among the largest in Seoul. Korean silks and ceramics, patterns in a kingfisher-blue glaze and warm earth tones shape the décor, and the windows frame the mountains, the city, N Seoul Tower or Gyeongbokgung Palace.
