General information
Grand Hotel Toplice sits at the very edge of Lake Bled, looking across still water to the island and Bled Castle, with the Alps on the horizon. Its history begins in 1818 and spans more than two centuries, and for over a hundred years it has been part of everyday life in Bled, a lakeside address where generations of travellers formed their own attachment to the lake.
The hotel is now closed for a complete renovation and reopens in September 2027. The renewed Grand Hotel Toplice keeps its character and heritage while adding contemporary luxury and current sustainability principles: lighter, more comfortable public spaces, discreet and personal service from the first contact, and a wellbeing area linked to the hotel’s own natural spring. It is part of Sava Hotels & Resorts and a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
Location
The hotel stands on the very shore of Lake Bled, 54 km from Ljubljana. Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport is 35 km away and Klagenfurt Airport 65 km; the railway station is 3.3 km and the nearest bus stop 800 m from the hotel.
Spa
The wellbeing area of the renewed hotel draws on its own natural spring and is shaped around water, light and quiet, a place for unhurried rest and recovery.
Sports & leisure
A 6 km walking trail circles Lake Bled; the town has a long rowing tradition, and the calm water suits easy stand-up paddleboarding. Bled’s 18-hole golf course is the largest in Slovenia. Close by are pletna boat trips to the island, Bled Castle, fiacre rides, hot-air balloon flights over the lake, Vintgar Gorge, the summer toboggan run on Straža, the Dolinka zipline, rafting, cycling in the Radovna valley, hiking in the Julian Alps and Triglav National Park, and Lake Bohinj.

The renewed hotel has a restaurant serving refined cuisine with wide views over Lake Bled, and a lounge bar with a calm atmosphere for an unhurried drink looking out across the water.

In summer, hotel guests have a private beach on the lake shore, with attentive service right by the water and views across Bled.
Rooms
After a complete renovation that preserves the hotel’s character, heritage and quiet elegance, Grand Hotel Toplice welcomes guests again from September 2027, with reservations already open for stays from 1 September 2027. The rooms and suites range from intimate Heritage rooms to the 93 m² signature suite with three balconies over Lake Bled.
Rooms have a writing desk and a bathroom with a bath or shower; every category except the Heritage Room has a private balcony, and the Lake View categories look out over Lake Bled.
