The St. Regis Singapore

About this hotel

General information

The St. Regis Singapore stands in Tanglin, at the point where the Orchard Road shopping belt meets the Singapore Botanic Gardens and the leafy embassy quarter. Its interiors take their cue from the gardens next door: botanical motifs, soft blues and aquas, timber floors and furniture made for the house. A private collection of more than 70 works — paintings, sculpture and prints by modern European masters alongside Singaporean and other Asian artists — is displayed throughout, and a butler leads a complimentary art tour each evening.

There are 299 rooms and suites, all looked after by round-the-clock St. Regis butlers who unpack and pack, press garments and bring coffee or tea in the morning. The house keeps the brand’s rituals: afternoon tea in The Tea Room, champagne sabred on the Grand Staircase every evening and a local take on the Bloody Mary at The St. Regis Bar. Cantonese cooking at Yan Ting and Italian at Sophia, a dining room styled as a glasshouse, lead a choice of seven restaurants and bars.

Location

The hotel sits in Tanglin, a block from Orchard Road and about a 15-minute walk from the Singapore Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; Orchard and Orchard Boulevard MRT stations are close by. Dempsey Hill, with its antique shops and restaurants, is nearby, and Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay and the Merlion are an easy drive. Changi Airport is about 20 km away, and the hotel arranges limousine transfers on request.

Spa

St. Regis Spa is the brand’s own signature concept, inspired by a glamorous private salon at The St. Regis New York. It has five treatment rooms, a couple’s suite and two manicure and pedicure rooms, along with a celebration bar and a relaxation lounge; the separate men’s and women’s wet areas hold cedarwood Finnish saunas, eucalyptus steam rooms, indoor and outdoor jacuzzis and heated wave loungers. Each massage or body treatment opens with a footbath ritual, and the menu covers massages, scrubs, wraps and facials with Sothys, Charm d’Orient and Zents products, a signature collection of five treatments, and hand, foot and nail care by Margaret Dabbs London.

Sports & leisure

The outdoor pool on level 2 is ringed by a sun terrace where drinks and snacks are served. The 24-hour fitness centre has Technogym cardio and strength equipment and free weights. A butler leads a complimentary tour of the hotel’s art collection every evening (booking required), and on set days The St. Regis Bar hosts a zero-waste Bloody Mary masterclass. The concierge and butlers help plan outings to the Botanic Gardens, Gardens by the Bay and the city’s other parks.

For children

A separate children’s pool sits beside the main outdoor pool. The Family Traditions programme for guests aged 12 and under provides plush bathrobes, slippers and bath essentials for the youngest travellers.

Restaurants & bars

Seven restaurants and bars share the hotel, and in-room dining runs around the clock:

  • Sophia — Italian cooking built on traditional recipes from 11 regions, served in a glasshouse-inspired dining room; breakfast is served here too
  • Yan Ting — Cantonese cuisine, dim sum and set lunch and dinner menus, with a dim sum brunch at weekends and private dining rooms
  • The Tea Room — the St. Regis afternoon tea with scones, jams and clotted cream, plus an all-day menu of local and Western dishes
  • The Patisserie — handmade cakes and pastries, with coffee and tea to take away
  • The St. Regis Bar — a speakeasy-style cocktail bar whose signature is The Straits Mary, a local twist on the Bloody Mary
  • Tentsuru — Japanese cooking built on seasonal produce flown in from Japan
  • Shinji by Kanesaka — a Japanese partner restaurant of the hotel
Swimming

The outdoor pool is on level 2, with a lounging terrace and a separate children’s pool alongside; towels are provided. St. Regis Spa adds indoor and outdoor jacuzzis.
