Niva Labriz Seychelles

About this hotel

General information

Niva Labriz Seychelles is the only resort on Silhouette, a mountainous island off Mahé that lies within a protected national park. Rainforest climbs the granite slopes behind it, and more than a hundred villas are scattered between the jungle, tropical gardens and a beach of powder-soft sand. Interiors are light and unfussy, with deep bathtubs and open-air rain showers.

Days follow the island’s rhythm: guided walks along forest trails, snorkelling and diving in the surrounding marine park, visits to the organic garden and Creole cooking classes. Six restaurants and bars run from a buffet brasserie to Japanese teppanyaki and Italian dining, while the LIME Wellbeing spa is set among granite boulders on the hillside. There is a kids’ club, and weddings are arranged on the island.

Location

The resort lies on Silhouette Island, inside its protected national park. A daily boat runs from the jetty at Bel Ombre on Mahé, a crossing of about 40 minutes, and the helicopter flight from Seychelles International Airport takes around 15 minutes; the resort arranges both transfers.

Spa

LIME Wellbeing is tucked into the hillside in the heart of the jungle, its treatment rooms set among granite boulders. It has six treatment rooms, a sauna, a steam room, an outdoor freshwater plunge pool, an open-air whirlpool pavilion and a relaxation area. The menu covers massages, facials, body, hand and foot treatments, and couples’ and men’s rituals, using Aromatherapy Associates, Cochine and Obsidian products; yoga and meditation sessions are held here too. The spa is open to guests aged 16 and over.

Sports & leisure

Five guided trails lead through the island’s rainforest and granite terrain. The Labriz Dive Center runs PADI courses, diving lessons and snorkelling sessions in the marine park, and there are non-motorised water sports, boat excursions, sunset cruises on the resort’s own boat and day trips to La Digue on request. On land there are tennis and padel courts, a fitness centre, yoga, a games room, Creole cooking classes, organic garden visits and beach barbecues.

For children

The kids’ club runs a programme of children’s activities, including educational nature walks, family snorkelling and creative island pastimes.

Restaurants & bars

The kitchens cook with the day’s catch and produce from the resort’s own garden, and dietary requirements are catered for.

  • Brasserie Dauban — buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with international themes that change weekly
  • Sakura — Asian fusion from an open-air kitchen, from sushi to South-East Asian dishes, with sea views
  • Teppanyaki — Japanese teppanyaki by the lake, with fresh seafood grilled in front of guests
  • Portobello — Italian restaurant with an indoor dining room and a lakeside terrace facing the mountains, plus a wine cellar
  • Grann Kaz — local Creole cooking in a traditional island house
  • Lo Brizan Bar — cocktail bar with island-inspired cocktails and light snacks
Swimming

The resort sits on a beach of powder-soft sand with warm, clear water, and the marine park’s coral reefs are close by for swimming and snorkelling. Several villa categories have their own private pool or garden plunge pool.
