Mango House Seychelles, LXR Hotels & Resorts

About this hotel

General information

Mango House Seychelles is a small hotel in Hilton’s LXR Hotels & Resorts collection, set on Mahé’s southern coast directly above the bay of Anse aux Poules Bleues. There are only 41 rooms, suites and villas, and every one looks out over the bay from a balcony or terrace. Interiors keep to light, natural colours, with traditional furniture and décor that echoes the island landscape.

The hotel is spread across several houses on the slope: Cliff House sits on the rocks with sweeping ocean views, while suites in Bay House and Ocean House have pools of their own. The grounds hold three pools, the Anpe spa, a gym and four restaurants and bars covering Japanese, Italian and Creole cooking. The concierge helps plan island outings before arrival, and ceremonies can be held on the shore of the bay. The whole property is smoke-free.

Location

The hotel stands right on the bay of Anse aux Poules Bleues in the Baie Lazare district on Mahé’s southern coast, with direct beach access. Seychelles International Airport is about 35 minutes away by car and the capital, Victoria, roughly an hour; parking for guests is free.

Spa

Anpe – Creole for “at peace” – has treatment suites overlooking the Indian Ocean and works with locally sourced products and handmade scrubs. The signature Lavi Anpe is a full-body massage that also takes in the face and scalp, using banana oil and warmed granite stones. The menu continues with Seselwa Blended, where technique, focus areas and pressure are set around the guest, and the gentle, flowing Calm Baie, alongside facials and nail care.

Sports & leisure

The gym is fitted with Technogym equipment and free weights. Snorkelling is good straight off the hotel, as the bay is known for its lively marine life. The kitchen team holds a Creole curry demonstration every day, a pizza-making class on request and a weekly tasting of locally made Endemic rum. The hotel also arranges outings around the islands:

  • coastal and forest hikes along rocky shoreline paths
  • diving, glass-bottom boat trips and semi-submarine rides
  • wetland tours and guided walks with a ranger to see local wildlife
  • day and overnight yacht cruises, and a private sunset cruise
  • a trip to La Digue for its beaches and granite boulders
  • golf, car or bike hire, and scenic helicopter flights
Restaurants & bars

All four venues face the ocean; for special evenings the hotel sets up a private four-course dinner, a picnic in its seaside garden or an aperitivo served in a suite’s own pool.

  • Kokoye Lounge – the main bar, pairing cocktails with Japanese cuisine and bay views
  • Muse – Italian dishes from across the country, made for sharing; breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • Moutya – Creole cooking built on local produce, with a menu created by the hotel’s own team
  • Soley – light meals, snacks and cocktails by the main pool during the day
Swimming

The hotel has direct access to the beach at Anse aux Poules Bleues, where snorkelling is easy from the shore. There are three pools: the almond-shaped main pool with the Soley bar, an infinity pool above the bay and a pool on a raised wooden deck. Suites in Bay House and Ocean House have private pools.

Pets

Pets are not accepted; only service animals are allowed.
