About this hotel
General information
Le Château de Feuilles is an intimate boutique hotel on the crown of a low hill at Pointe Cabris, on the south-east coast of Praslin. There are only seven rooms and suites, set through a tropical garden of palms, orchids and flowering shrubs, and nearly all of them look out over the Indian Ocean and the neighbouring islands.
The appeal lies in its quiet and its attention to detail: the gastronomic restaurant cooks with produce from the hotel’s own organic garden, a panoramic hot tub sits at the highest point of the grounds, and there is a spa and a chlorine-free pool. The hotel owns Grande Soeur, a private island kept for its guests alone at weekends, and has its own helipad beside the property. A multilingual team helps plan island outings.
Location
The hotel stands on a hill at Pointe Cabris in the Baie Sainte Anne district, on the south-east shore of Praslin, the second-largest island of the Seychelles, some 44 km north-east of Mahé. From Seychelles International Airport guests can fly by helicopter straight to the hotel’s helipad, take a domestic flight to Praslin (about 15 minutes) or the fast catamaran (about an hour); a private driver meets them at Praslin’s airport or harbour. The Vallée de Mai nature reserve is close by.
Spa
The hotel’s small spa offers Africology rituals and treatments with products inspired by age-old care traditions from around the world. The menu runs from the Signature Château massage to aromatherapy, deep-tissue and lymphatic drainage massages, an Indian head massage with warm sesame oil, hot-stone massage, reflexology, back and head massage, manicures and pedicures. A panoramic hot tub on the highest slope of the grounds, with a 360° view over twelve neighbouring islands, is open round the clock.
Sports & leisure
The hotel arranges diving with a PADI five-star centre for beginners and experienced divers alike, provides snorkelling gear, and offers bicycle rides along the coast and rounds on an 18-hole golf course. The team plans tailor-made programmes and day trips to La Digue, Curieuse and other neighbouring islands. The hotel also sells a boat outing to its own island, Grande Soeur, on Saturday or Sunday: deserted white-sand beaches, granite boulders, swimming and snorkelling among sea turtles, giant tortoises roaming freely, and a barbecue lunch on the beach.
Restaurants & bars
The open-air restaurant looks over the garden and the ocean. It serves refined international cooking with a Creole touch, using produce from the hotel’s own organic garden. Breakfast is continental, lunch is à la carte and the evening brings the four-course Discovery Signature menu, with a wine and Champagne list, candlelit dinners and room service. The kitchen caters for vegetarian, halal and gluten-free diets when told in advance. The bar pours its own signature cocktails.
Swimming
At the heart of the hotel is a pool treated with magnesium and potassium instead of chlorine. The villa and the deluxe suites have their own lagoon-style pools. Anse Marie-Louise, a white-sand beach, is a few minutes’ walk away.
Rooms
Seven rooms and suites are spread through the tropical garden; nearly all have their own terrace or balcony and panoramic ocean views, and some add a private pool or a Roman hot tub.
