About this hotel
General information
Avani+ Barbarons Seychelles Resort sits directly on the sand of a quiet bay at Barbarons, on the west coast of Mahé, where the sun sets straight into the Indian Ocean every evening. The style is contemporary and easy-going: 192 rooms and suites are spread through tropical gardens, along a lagoon pool and beside the beach, and four-bedroom villas with their own pools cater for larger groups.
The mood is relaxed but well kept. Three restaurants cover Creole, international and grill cooking, alongside a sushi counter, bars at both pools, AvaniSpa under the forest canopy, a 24-hour gym and a games room. It works equally for couples and families: a daily children’s programme, rooms that step out into the pool and two-bedroom suites give every generation its own space.
Location
The resort lies at Barbarons on the western shore of Mahé, in a calm bay with a golden-sand beach. Seychelles International Airport is around 30 minutes away by road, and the hotel arranges transfers on request.
Spa
AvaniSpa is tucked into the shade of the tropical forest, with treatment rooms for one guest and for couples and a pool for unwinding afterwards. Signature treatments include an oil massage with stretching that concentrates on the shoulders and upper back, a lifting facial, and a ritual for two that pairs the signature massage with a tailored facial.
Sports & leisure
The air-conditioned AvaniFit gym is open around the clock and hosts group classes, with yoga and meditation at sunrise. From the beach there is snorkelling in Barbarons Bay, kayaks (including clear-bottomed ones) and stand-up paddleboards, as well as jet skis, waterskiing, wakeboarding and banana rides. A freediving school runs beginner and advanced courses in the resort pool, some with a reef session, and the hotel arranges transfers to a PADI dive centre at Port Launay. Guests can also book a Creole cooking class, a cocktail-making session, a tasting of local rum or a culinary outing to a farm and to local fishermen. The hotel organises catamaran sails, sea excursions to Sainte Anne Marine Park, Praslin and La Digue, and semi-submersible boat trips.
For children
Children have daily activities as part of the resort’s weekly activity calendar. Young people aged 12–15, accompanied by a parent, can take a youth freediving course in the pool or with a reef session, and the youngest divers can try the Bubble Maker programme at the partner PADI dive centre.
Restaurants & bars
Dining revolves around Creole cooking, seafood and dishes from around the world.

- SEYUMAI — a small counter-style sushi bar
- Bar Barons — drinks and light bites from morning until late evening
- Zil Bar — a swim-up bar serving drinks and snacks by day
- Private dining by the ocean on request, plus in-room dining
Swimming
The resort opens onto golden-sand Barbarons Beach, with the calm water of the bay well suited to snorkelling.
